Sonya, Seriously - what would I do without you? I know I told you this - but you are amazing (and quite helpful at calming me down)....... |
Weights I just weighed them. They are 3.0, 3.1, 3.7, 3.7. |
Jenn, you are doing great with them. I imagine you will have a few sleepless nights, but just keep them warm and fed and you will be greatly rewarded! |
So, I really tried to warm them up using a warm towel. Then I placed them all along side Chloe. I tried to help them all to the nipple, because they were having trouble finding one (she has 9!). One is real GOOD! I was so excited. The other one was pretty good. One was okay and the other didnt seem interested. On my way out to get Karo syrup as per SONYA! |
YaY! Congrats on your puppies, hope all is going well with momma and babies! |
Wow... I just finished reading this entire tread.. Its like I'm watching a movie, I am absolutely glued. How are both litters doing?? |
keep up the good work! |
Those babies are very premature :( I really hate to say this but it will be a miracle if they make it, their lungs will be their biggest downfall. I would personally be tube feeding them and keeping them in a warming box and just putting them on mom to nurse. If they can not nurse then you can "milk" mom using a syringe...if you need instructions then we can get them for you. Oh this just breaks my heart...I am so sorry! |
I was about to mention tubefeeding also. Youtube had an awesome video on tube feeding puppies.About 3cc for Chloe's pups. Theonly place I know that sells those syringes and tubes is in a medical supply store maybe somewhere in your town. That is the only thing I dont have for Lola's whelp! i got everything else except the tube and syringe.I just looked in the Yellow Pages for medical supply stores and found a few in town. So after the vet appt I'm going to see if Ican find that. I just feel more calm if I had it. I'll have those puppies and mommy in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Keep me updated Jen! I feel a little bond with Chloe and Lola since we kept updating each other lol Genie,Cookie,Lola & Angel |
Wow........I've been watching for Chloe's whelping thread and here it is with not one mama whelping, but two! That is awesome. Congratulations to everyone for getting successfully through the whelping and to all who were able to be here to help. YT friends are the BEST! I will say some extra prayers for Chloe's little preemies to gain strength and start nursing well from mama. (((Hugs))) to you Jenn for the constant supplementing you have ahead of you. Wish I was there to help. |
You should be able to get a feeding tube from your vet too or an emergency clinic if after hours...I use a size 8 french feeding tube for toy puppies. Anything smaller you risk it bunching up in the lungs because they are so soft and are hard to use. |
Thanks for mentioning that! I will ask the Vet tomorrow. I was about to ask for the size 5 F I will see what she tells me tomorrow.I gotta go and get Lola. She has her nose poking through the puppy gate and she is whining and making noises so I can go and pick her up! She doesnt want to by with my daughter at all now! And Lola is her dog! Lola is getting very, very clingy now. I can understand that though :) |
Sad news We lost one. I am just so terribly upset, I really cant stop the tears from falling down my face. I am so sad for Chloe- she is such a good mom and was trying to lick him back to life. The smallest one isnt looking so good, but I am trying............. |
litter Sweetie, these are just 55 day pups...I am afraid it may not turn out well..tube them and make sure they are warm before feeding..my best thoughts are coming your way. |
