customer from hell It's nice there's a breeder review section, but a customer review might be nice too. On Saturday a very well spoken woman claiming to be a retired health professional living in a nearby city came to see my puppies. She talked in great detail about her many years as a Yorkie owner and how lonely she was since the death of her last one. She selected two 18 week old puppies, went home to prepare for them, then returned on Sunday afternoon to pick them up. Late Monday night she woke me up with a phone call to complain that the puppies had been crying incessantly since arriving at her home and she couldn't get any sleep. I asked her to please return them for a refund the following morning, which she did. They appear to be in excellent condition except for having been ravenously hungry, and there has been no crying or other carrying on whatsoever. I feel terrible about having let my puppies go home with this person and would love to have a place to report her as someone not to ever sell a pet to. |
Oh how sad is that.. wow she did not have them long and did a lot of complaining.. glad you took them back and for them to be that hungry it is no wonder they were crying... anne |
wow.. clearly she has never had a puppy before! you are so lucky she agreed to return them. it must be so hard for breeders to say good bye to a puppy when you TRUST they are going somewhere great, let alone when they go to this person. So glad you got your babies back! |
That's scary that she didn't even think to feed them!!! I guess you never really know someone, even if the first impression is good!! Hope you don't run into any more like her!! |
well youre lucky you have them back...if a adoptee doesnt understand the transistion process of a puppy then they dont need a live dog they need to buy a stuffed animal, you never need to feed it, comes prehouse trained, matt free, groom free, and will stay anywhere you place it:) |
Did you tell her what to expect that seems a little unreasonable reason to return a puppy. My breeder told me mine would probably cry at night untill they got used to staying in the xpen at night. She also showed me what she feed and gave me some food to take home. This lady sounds like she didnt know at all how to care for the pups which makes you wonder since she got 2 |
Wow what kind of person could be like that, it is like asking a baby not to cry. She took this puppy from its home and family and expects it not to cry LOL what are people thinking. |
Wow, all babies cry esp when they are in a new enviormnet. How lucky you are to have found this out and gotten them back. I can only imagine they would have had if it started like this!!! |
This lady seems a little "unbalanced" if she can not know there will be a transition period...thankfully she returned them....they are much better off...who knows what would have become of them.... |
Consider yourself very blessed! |

This woman claimed to have owned Yorkies for almost 30 years previously. Whereas I thought getting two puppies was a bit ambitious, she is retired and certainly has the time to work with them. Last week I sold two to a very busy working woman who is having a ball with them. |
 Those poor babies sound like they were home-sick....does she not realize that this is normal?! They probably didn't eat because they were nervous over the change...that, too, is normal. How lucky that you got them back. I cannot imagine treating one of my dogs like that! :( Livi used to cry at night because she slept in the bathroom, but once we decided that since she is afterall the princess of the house and should sleep in bed with us, she has never had another problem. I am very sorry that you and your babies went through this, but thankfully, you have them back home. :) Tammy |
Yes, I am blessed Quote:

thank goodness she returned them to you. post some pics so we can see the cuties. |
Good God, how horrible! Sounds like she shouldn't even own a cactus, let alone two dogs! |

Your lucky she gave them back before something happened to them! |

I think this would be one of the most difficult parts of being a breeder. You have to be a great judge of character, and things are not always what they seem to be. I am glad you are the type of breeder that takes the puppies back, I know Joey's breeder told me that if at anytime in his life, I couldn't care for him she would take him back. How long have you been breeding, if you don't mind my asking? |

I've been breeding for 5 years and am just about ready to quit but not just over this. I't hard work with the show world being all political with competitions planned with amazing strategic sophistication, people demanding unreasonable health guarantees and low prices, then you get someone like this sociopath who essentially wanted to "borrow" puppies for a day with no concern whatsoever over the amount of my time she wasted or how this joepardized the health and safety of my puppies. Yeah, I'm tired of it already. |

I had a situation similar to yours except that the person waited too long and when she came home with the puppy its was too late , the pup died 15 minutes after he was here . I never gave the money back to the woman . Later on , I called all the Yorkie breeder of my area , gave them the name and phone number of this woman . She called them one by one and the only answer she received was a firm NO . |
This Lady know nothing about dogs! Good thing you got them back! :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |

I'm sorry about your puppy, but I'm so glad you were able to warn others. This one had told me she was a good friend of a nearby very reputable breeder. I contacted that breeder yesterday to tell her about this and verify they knew each other. The breeder told me she knew the woman quite well but had not heard from her in two years, and at that time she had just purchased a puppy from a store. I don't know anything about that, but I can't tell you how sad I feel to have let my puppies go home with her. |

She starved the poor babies, how horrible! Even if she had fed them, they still would be uneasy and nervous the first few nights. I'm so happy you got them both back before it was too late!!! I hope you're able to contact other local breeders to warn them too. That lady shouldn't have a dog! |
Glad to hear you got them back. Sometimes you just can't tell about people. I had a lady come over last fall to see my pups. She was looking for a small girl. Well, I had nothing but small girls from that litter but she didn't want to pay what I was asking for them. Good thing too. After she told me she was going to look at someone else's pups, she said, "if it gets too big, I'll just sell her". Well, she calls me back and tells me she had bought a 6 week old girl (yeah, I know). Then last week this same lady calls me back, looking for a small girl. She didn't realize I recognized her voice but goes on to tell me she had bought a girl last fall and it had got too big (4 pounds at 6 months) and she was selling her. I told my wife I hope she does sell her because that baby doesn't deserve to be with such an idiot. Sad thing is, this woman will go on buying dogs, being dissatisfied with them and re-selling them. Knowing how this woman is, I wouldn't trust her with my dog's poop, much less a puppy. :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
