Harsh! OMGosh!!!! I was browsing (sp?) kijiji looking for yorkies as I often do and came upon someone selling "pomshires". As this is not an accident litter (she has her own website too) I emailed her and asked why she was breeding/selling mixed breed dogs as there are already many in the pound etc. This is the response I got back... Listen a$$hole, It's too bad that you have no life other than to harass people. All my pups were sold and I keep in close contact with each one. None have ever ended up in the pound!!! Why don't you do you and me a favor and F**K OFF I can't believe some people. I am really hurt:( |
OMG....that was harsh:eek: I mean she could have said nicely to myob but there was no need for the bad language:thumbdown |
Geez, people are so mean. The person who emailed you AND this person above!! Look, I feel for you. Obviously you are not just harassing people but looking out for the good of the puppies. It is STUPID, I think, that people pay hundreds of dollars for these "pomshires" aka MUTTS. When there are so many beautiful dogs in pounds, shelters. It's so sad. Obviously you do have better things to do than "harass" people (which you weren't) but you do take the time out of your life to look out for dogs. Caring about dogs is nothing to get yelled at for. |
I am stunned at this reply... good god what is this world coming to...anne |
the way I look at it, everyone has his or her own opinion. You can choose to give, to keep it to yourself or to listen to it to or ignore it. There is no reason to get bent out of shape, especially over something on the internet. |
There is no way any of us are going to change the way some people mix breeds. The reply was from someone that mixes breeds and of course they don't have the decency to respond in a nice way. The bad thing is there are no laws to prevent this and until there are there is nothing that can be done. You did not deserve the harsh reply but I would not have wasted my time even send a msg to the person as I would not expect anything less than a bad response. I hope you can just consider the source.... |
Harassment refers to a wide spectrum of offensive behavior. When the term is used in a legal sense it refers to behaviors that are found threatening or disturbing, and beyond those that are sanctioned by society. Sexual harassment refers to persistent and unwanted sexual advances, typically in the workplace, where the consequences of refusing are potentially very disadvantageous to the victim. She did not harrass that person. Here is the definition. You seem rather rude and accusational yourself. Google it!!! |

I can't believe that you would say that! How is asking a question harrasment??? |
I have reported this person for being rude and harsh. The ad has been deleted. And here is the last response I got from her.... "Why don't you learn to spell??? It says you're a horse person.... you the a$$???" My email address is horseperson........... I created this email account when I was 10 and before I discovered that I am a yorkieperson..........:p Hey I might make a new email!:p She is now offering him for stud. |
i can't believe someone actually condones that language. |
I'm not taking anyones side.. And ofcourse a language like she wrote is NOT okay! But if my 'mutt' (my sweet mixed breed baby) got a litter and I wanted to sell them, I would be very sad to get a negative email... We wouldn't have all these great breeds if humans had never mixed some of them |
:thumbdown People like that should not be breeding imo. There's no reason to so so rude, like that person was. We are all entitled to our opinions, she/he should have some class!! |
I dont agree with the language, and I didnt see the site, but if she is making sure that the dogs are going to good homes and makes sure they are staying out of shelters, then good for her. It isnt a crime to mix dogs. There are many people out there breeding only purebreds that dont take that much responsibility. |
You should change your dictionary , harrassing is not the meaning of asking a simple question . |
The people who want to be educated can be. But there is always room for a difference of opinion, even after researching and studying. I personally don't have a problem with mixed breeds within limits. Not a Rotti/Shire certainly, but mixed small breeds are okay with me. There will always be pure bred Yorkies, and as long as the mixes are sold as mixes, there should be room for them too. Just because I wouldn't do it, doesn't mean it is a sin for someone else to do it. And as I've said before "pound" puppies/dogs are just not for everyone. We all should have a choice. I would be more comfortable with the OP's actions if she hunted down the owner/breeder of the dogs in the pound and questioned them. Unless the seller is a puppy mill, or seriously endangering the lives of the mother/puppies, I think there should be a peaceful co-existence. Of course this is just my opinion and I realize others may differ. PEACE! |
The problem lies with the fact many breeders sell their puppies...without any regard to what happens should those puppies ever be bred...and the ones after those and the ones after that. I personally do not like the phrase...designer dog and I owned ONE...pretty certain she was very rare and could never be duplicated...;) |

While I'm no fan of mixing breeds, I do understand that every pure bred dog was at one time a 'mutt'. With any mix-breed, a group of breeders could get together and attempt to get a breed recognized if they could set a 'type'. One that comes to mind (and makes no sense to me) is the Silky Terrier. It's only been recognized for less than 50 years and resembles an off-standard Yorkie more than a distinct breed. It wouldn't surprise me if something such as a Morkie was recognized at some future time. Though there are some ridiculous mixes, some are quite good looking dogs and I personally withhold criticizing those who breed mixes. In my mind, the only 'pure bred' dog is the Wolf and everything else is a controlled derivative breed (mutt) from them. All this doesn't excuse the rudeness of the person that e-mailed you, but they've probably heard all the criticisms before. Maybe your e-mail was the straw that broke the camel's back. :aimeeyork :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :) |
site You are certainly free to express your opinion...I do it many times a day on YT...so I guess I am a harasser also... |

Don't be offended by their ignorance. I always see postings about people who want a free Yorkie, or any breed because they can't "afford" one. IMO, if they can't afford the price for the puppy itself, how can they care for it during its lifetime? Eww. |
Her language was foul and shows she has no class. She definetely could have handled your email better. That being said, she has a right to breed mix breeds as long as she's being a responsible breeder and taking good care of her dogs and puppies. I've seen it mentioned on several forums that if people want mixed breeds they could rescue a dog but the fact is, we all want what we want whether it's a purebred Yorkie, a Pomshire or a rescue dog. I personally won't go to the pound because of my past experiance with having a dog without seeing the mother's temperament. I will never again get a dog unless I can check out the mother. Before I got Bella I almost got a Yorkie/Maltese mix because of the price. But, I always wanted a Yorkie and knew I still would even if I got the mix pup so changed my mind and I'm so glad it did! |

That's the first step in having a breed recognized. |
