help does anyone know gayla striplin, and ould you recommend getting a yorkie from her? |
Don't know her and never heard of her, but her website (Yorkshire Terrier Breeders | Yorkie Puppies for Sale | Quality Yorkies | Tea Cup Yorkie For Sale | Yorkie Breeder) or pictureperfectyorkies.com has a few things that I would definately question before making a decision. - Selling and advertising 'teacups' stating that the dogs will only be 2-3 lbs as an adult. (She does state that the average size of her dogs is 4-6 pounds.) - Her health guarantee only includes life threatening congenial defects--there are many health related issues (like LP) that are not life threatening, but costly and heart breaking to deal with...what about those issues? Just some things to ask about.:) |
Gayla Striplin I would not recommend. |
Speaking from personal experience, I would not recommend. |
Stay away from a breeder who describes their puppies as teacups.:aimeeyork |
I would stay away from her...... She also has an adult female for sale that she is selling: "I just don't like the floppy ears that is the only reason I am selling her" Sorry I love my baby to much to care about her ears. |
Just because someone has teacups on their website does not discredit the breeder. It is the public that refers to the small yorkies as teacups. We do not breed for the tiny sizes as a fact of nature we occassionaly have the tiny sizes. As stated they are sold to people who only know how to care for them. You should get your facts straight before slamming someone you don't know! |
Why do you know this person and her reputation? |
And Please tell us how you personally know her? |
I can't get the link to work? I want to check the site out? |

And I don't see where anyone on this thread was "slammed" by anyone else.... |

:confused:I am confused cause I do not see the whole "floppy eared" dog on the pictureperfectyorkies.com.....? Can some on help me out...The breeder that you are talking about is in MO right? I try to familiarize myself with breeders in my area??? Can you tell me what you know about this breeder? If you have personal experiences with them...I would like to know. I didn't get to check out her web site. Can someone send me the link??? |
jennylee-- Just FYI, this thread is more than a month old. The breeder's site that was up and running when this thread was started mid-June is no longer active. Not sure if the other one mentioned (see previous posts) works or if the breeder has another site. :) |
:D:DThanks...but I think that I have seen this site somwhere???? And someone has been replying to it recently???? Just doing lots of research and being a little nosey |

not meaning yorkies with floppy ears are not cute they just don't live up to the standards of the AKC yorkie. You should not be so quick to judge one until you know the truth about what is being stated. People are all entitled to their opinion but they does not mean everyone has to agree with it! Check out your sources first! |

You know that there are breeders out there that sell young adult dogs ALL the time....Now what is the big deal about her selling a dog???????????? I do not understand why a breeder is taking so much critisism about her choice in selling her dogs?????????????????????????????? |
There is a lot of hostility here. Questions asked, were answered. If you are looking for a Yorkie breeder in the Missouri area, Kathy785 is near Kansas City. She is on YT --I'm sure she will respond if you send a PM . |

I don't mean to come of hostile. It just is confusing to me???? The woman has some truly beautiful dogs. So, why is she being put down for what lots of breeders do everyday. She has chose to eliminate her from her breeding program adn offer her for sale. |

However, her decision was mentioned and concerns voiced by ONE member. ONE. One opinion of someone who's personal view is that they could not rehome any of their dogs for whatever reason, certainly not enough or some wide scale plot to 'discredit' anyone. I'm really confused as to why the comments here are being blown out of proportion.... |
Do Not Buy a Yorkie from Gayla or Mike Striplin!! Gayla Striplin is probably the most dishonest breeder out there right now. Trust me I know from experience!! I purchased an adult male from her for $2250, who she claimed to be champion sired and and lied about his size. Not only was he not ch. sired, he had no absolutely NO champion background at all. When I contacted her to let her know that I received his pedigree from AKC and that there were no champions she produced some fake, doctored up documents that were NOT in any way official. (I think it was something she made on her computer) Finally I asked her for either a full refund in exchange for the dog back or for a partial refund. She refused of course. So I threatened to take her to court, to which she responded "don't waste your time, you don't have a case". I had all the emails where she claimed his daddy was a champion and my reciepts so I did have a case. I then contacted the clerk of courts in Maryville, MO...looking for some direction. Not surprisingly they knew all about her shady business practices, the woman actually said (before I could get it out) "let me guess, Gayla Striplin!!!" Next I contacted the Anderson Sundell Law Firm in her hometown, who also knew all about her. Their exact words were "let's take her down". The attorney informed me that he was also contacted by a woman in Washington state who was ripped off! Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to fly down to Missouri to get justice, but I can smear her name a little...that's free!! Please do not put yourself through the headache or heartache, there are honest breeders out there! Oh I forgot to mention she had her phone # changed 3 times while I was dealing with her!! That spells SHADY to me! Her husband also has a criminal record for assult and stalking!! Yikes! |
I know this is a little old, but I just come across this.....anyways I read all the responces, I have to say I am very sorry for the 1 actual bad report that was posted. I have a yorkie that was purchased from Gayla and I could not be more happier with my purchase. Gayla told me and e-mailed me my girls pedigree. It checked fine with AKC. I have never been lied to by Gayla through the whole process. I did however drive the 5 hours it took to get my little girl, I do not believe in shipping. I chose to drive so that I knew what I was paying for. Gayla has always answered my calls and I would purchase from her again, no questions asked. I am so displeased with alot of people who will read one story and charactorize someones whole life on that one story. I hope this will help people in the future thinking about purchasing from Gayla. Thanks, Mary Jackson:aimeeyork Gracie:aimeeyork Tucker:aimeeyork Rosey:aimeeyork Abigayle:aimeeyork |
Gayla and Mike Striplin You actually had a good exerience with purchasing a yorkie from Gayla Striplin?! Wow, good for you...as for anyone else who is considering purchasing a yorkie from her, make sure you do your homework. There are a ton of bad reports on her from other "suckers" who were ripped off by this cruel, money hungry breeder. Here's a link to one I just dug up, it only took about 2 seconds for me to find a "rip off" report against her on the world wide web!! By the way she changed her website, probably due to the fact that she destroyed her reputation. It was minivilleyorkies.com and is now pictureperfectyorkies.com BEWARE!! She is really good at changing her contact info!! By the way here is one of her rip off reports, when I have more time I will post others on this thread...as you can see I am still VERY p'd for all the agony she has put my family through through!! Rip-off Report: Miniville Yorkies, Mike Striplin, And Gayla Striplin Misrepresentation,Very Dishonest, Deceitful, False advertisement, did not receive what was paid for, Maryville Missouri |
I was browsing the this thread and was taken aback by the harshness of the post from Jackson25. I have purchased 4 Yorkies from Gayla and her husband and have found each experience delightful and enjoyable. When my wife and I decided to purchase these darling babies we did a great deal of research and spoke to them at least a dozen times before buying. Each time there wasn't any pressure, they gave us a lot of information even though there wasn't any assurances for them that we were going to buy from them, and most importantly, they provided ALL the information we asked for. We have verified all our pups papers without any issues and even found them to be better than advertised when we bought our little Rocko! My mother in law has even purchased a dog from her, as has my wife's boss. We recommend her to everyone! I truly believe her comment of selling a puppy due to "floppy ears" wasn't meant as a bad thing towards the dog, but as merely a justification to a buyer for not keeping her in her kennels. When we bought our girl Sasha, we asked why she would sell such a beautiful puppy and her reply was because her snout was a little too long for what she was looking for. We didn't take that as she thought the pup was ugly, but as it wasn't something she was looking for in her line. Maybe it was her way of easing the sorrow for letting her go. We have been to her kennels and they are clean, organized and more importantly, her treatment and care for all her dogs was tremendous! It was those visits that convinced us to get puppies from her. As for her husband being a criminal...that is preposterous! We have met him on each occasion of picking up our dogs and there is no way he could be what this person has posted. Out of curiosity, my wife searched for info on both of them to see if there was any fact to it and she has found absolutely nothing of the sort. I believe this to be a bitter person who for some unexplained reason felt they had to try and discredit another person. My wife and I personally recommend Gayla and her Kennels to anyone looking for a beautiful and loving Yorkie to buy. |
Be very careful as the report you are refering to was challenged by the Attorney General of Missouri and found to be libel against the person who posted it. We did do our homework and this is the only thing we found that we questioned. Fortunately my wife works in a government office here in TN and contacted someone in the AG office about it and they said the person was in St Lousi and was actually found to be a puppy mill that was under investigation. Of course when we visited Gayla's kennels we asked and she showed us a huge file and letter from the AG office supporting her and denouncing the lady there. Did you see if there was a rebuttal or response from Gayla? If I remember right, there was one and it explained what happened. As for you being "pd", do you love your dog? If so then move on. There is too much hate in the world and you continuing this is just adding to the ugliness and not helping you or your family. As for posting the link, you will want to check with the MO Attorney General as there was an order for it to be removed at one time. I don't know what ever became of it but that was the outcome according to that office. |
You have alot of nerve Miss Yorkiesforme! I had to laugh at all your accusations, they are ridiculous! I even called your sources and they said " Quote- I have no idea of what you are talking about, but I don't like to have my name drug into this" So if I was you I would stop slandering now before you end up in court! As far as the rip off reports you again need to get your facts right. Those folks were taken to court and LOST!! Call your source and ask them about that!!! You make me sick!! You have nothing or no one to support your comments. I don't even know who you are! I have never lied to anyone about the pedigree of one of our yorkies. I couldn't even do that, We are bound by AKC rules and regulations. You have to know quality in order to get it. Sounds like you don't know enough about yorkies to have one. Don't bother slandering folks when you can't even get your story right!! You are a big JOKE! No one has the time to listen to you. Find something else to do!! |
A lot of breeders don't gurantee against LP, none of mine ever have, as a lot of times, they get that from jumping, so why should the breeder have to gurantee against that?? |
