What beautiful little babies! I am so glad everything went so well. Congratulations! |
Congratulations . Do you intend to have Penelope spayed when the puppies will be weaned ? |
Congratulations, they are adorable! Great job mommy and daddy! |
They are cuties . |
I'm sure you hated missing the acutal birth but you have some really great puppies. And one of each is nice and momma come out just fine. Take care of them and keep the pictures coming they are so cute. |
What cute puppies .Congrats. What are their names? |
Was praying for a good outcome , Momma realy looks worn out, poor Baby ! Congrats on the precious puppy's , happy they doing good ! :) |
Congratulations on those two little bundles of joy! Mom is a very pretty girl |
Congratulations on your new grandoggers! Nice, healthy weights! Make sure you feed mom several times a day...don't forget the pudding and calcium supplements. Since she is so small, I'd be worried about eclampsia. Mom may even get to the point that she doesn't want to eat. You can try boiled chicken...though I've had better luck with canned puppy food with calcium supplement tablets crushed and mixed in. Keep them warm...not hard to do in FL but make sure they aren't into any drafts. I actually close off the AC vent in the room when I have pups. Keep your male (adult) out of the area...don't want to stress mom out. You both did a fine job! |
Also, I'd weigh daily to ensure that the pups are gaining weight. Pudding...I buy the vanilla instant pudding...mix 1 3/4 cup whole milk (instead of the two cups) and mix an egg in with it. I give it to my girls 2-3 times a day as a treat. They absolutely love it...but be forwarned, it'll make the mommas and puppies fat...but who can resist a roley-poley pup!:p As far as calcium supplements...I mix mine with canned puppy food and feed 3 times a day. Some may say it's too much calcium...but I've had eclampsia in my house twice and it was the most horrific thing we've ever gone through. With Gracie's last litter, she got 3 whole tablets a day and never had a tremor...nothing! |
