This Sections Flame-Fest It seems when one poster, posts something people do not agree with with they get attacked around here. Even if the post wasn't meant to be rude, it gets misinterpreted and someone gets offended. Followed by everyone else. If you don't personal like what a person wrote, you do not need to flame them in thread, this takes away from the actual person's question and the whole thread becomes a flame-fest. A PM asking to explain or make their post seem 'kinder' is all that is needed if you really feel that way. Telling a pet owner, just because they haven't been breeding for x-amount of years isn't allow to post their opinions on here is very rude. A person who could be a novice pet owner is not any less educated on the topic of breeding, because they haven't breed themselves. Before breeders began breeding, they too were novice at it and had to learn from research on breeding. This same information can be read by anyone. There's no special school on breeders information. You guys are not Gods, just because you breed. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. If a person giving wrong information, say no this is not true and cite information why its not, don't just say (shut up) you stupid pet owner, you're not a breeder, so you have NO IDEA what you're talking about. I hope you are not raising your kids to talk to people this way and degrade them like they are lesser beings. I'm sorry I do not know EVERYTHING. But neither do vets. So when I asked resources if you're going to tell me 'some vets say'...please quote exactly why they believe that. When I get information on a subject, just because the person is a vet does NOT make them a reliable source. I get my research from STUDIES that have been done. Vets are going to have different opinions on things, because they have different brains. Some believe in titer testing others vaccinations. Please don't follow from what someone else says, get some opinions for yourself. These people are not super beings nor are they always 100% correct. Its not saying I don't trust my vet, I do she knows more than me and has helped me in my vet. But I do disagree on some of HER beliefs. She doesn't do 3 year vaccinates, because of reactions from HER CLIENTS. I rather have my dogs get the three year vaccinations than the one year from my own research. Had I not, my dog could of suffered from a one year vaccination, because I had thought my vet was an expert on this. My dogs suffers from allergies and I refuse to give my dog the food my vet promotes which is full of corn and fillers, which gives my dogs allergies. So I done MY OWN RESEARCH and found foods which my dog has been allergy-free since. But I do trust my vet in MOST things, but thus she isn't perfect and doesn't know EVERYTHING that is best for my dogs. |
I learned my lesson to bite-my-tongue(and cheek) on most posts that I don't agree with...but... I also feel like if there is no disenting voice on posts that really do seem unreasonable, the message and behavior seems to get a pass. I'm not advocating being rude. It becomes a slippery slope and as the integrity of breeders diminishes on a whole...the bar by which others are measured becomes shorter. Many of us deal with dogs every day that are the result of bad breeding. It makes us passionate about great breeders and responsibility...and priviledges of owning and breeding. I'll totally have someone's back when they become advocates for breeding the right way, taking care of puppies the way they should be...TESTING and upholding the standards. Just my opinion. ~Lorene |

Anyway, I sure wish you would've stated upfront what your intent was behind starting this thread because language like you used above is not the type of stuff I'd suggest if you'd like to start a healthy and calm discussion. So, what, exactly are you hoping to achieve here? I have a feeling this thread will not last long and I think it's unfortunate bc you may have had good intent...I'm not sure. We have EXCELLENT breeders here who provide incredible advice amongst an atmosphere that is not always friendly - but still, they stick around and try to help those in need. And I commend them for that service and dedication. Please be respectful of those who reach out to those in need. |

I've seen a pattern in this forum today too. Please remember everyone that you can not read a person's tone online. Just because someone doesn't write something long and drawn out with 100 :) doesn't mean they are being rude. Some people just get to the point..doesn't mean they are being rude. I think a lot of potentially helpful threads have gone sour because of unneccesary accusations. I don't think we should ever have to fight about someone's tone as no one truly knows the tone but the poster...it's not fair to the poster to accuse them of having a certain tone when you don't know. Instead of fighting about tone, just stick to the topic... There are breeders here with a lot of experience that are so helpful and do so many good things. But most of the breeders' attitudes lately have really put a damper on the word "breeder" around here. |

You deserve a :rose: I want to personally thank you for giving us Breeders credit for what we do and go through to help others. It really touched my heart when I read this in your post. Thanks so very much. :) Lee |

I'm sorry just because you disagree with what someone else is saying you feel to 'report' them for their beliefs. |
