Oh Nicki, what a heartbreaking whelp! I am so sorry to hear about the two puppies that did not survive and will say some prayers that the others will soon be able to nurse on their own and be okay. (((((Hugs))))) to you and Chloe. I assue you are either very busy with the surviving pups or resting. I will check back later for a hopefully good update. |

aww Nicki, I am so sorry that you lost two babies. I pray the others will be better soon. |
nicki, I am so sorry. makes you wonder why people come on here so anxious to breed their babies doesn't it when even we experienced breeders go thru things like this. it is just heartbreaking. |
You, your sister, mom and little ones are in our prayers! I'm real sorry she lost two babies! |
You have my sympathy for your lost little ones. I applaud you for being able to handle the first one... you've given the others a chance at life. I had to pull a over large pup last year, but my girl didn't have any more. She carried a toy around for days.... If you wouldn't have acted quickly you could have lost MOM and all the others. I do sincerely hope that your little lady can keep her two with her and pray that they thrive. My heart goes out to you. |
Oh dear what a stressfull experience. I'm so sorry that you lost 2. I hope the remaining girls are nursing and doing well. |
Thank you everyone for your support. This is another thread that we can point those to who are thinking of breeding their pets and don't understand the consequences. That baby that I had to pull would've killed her if I hadn't known that I HAD to stick my fingers up there and get him out. I knew he was already dead because his feet were the only things out and there was no sac...so all I could think about was that she had been trying to push him out for a long time and I HAD to get him out of there. Bless her heart, she did so good...she was trying so hard and she was exhausted. I had to give her some Calsorb after that first one...because she just had absolutely no energy to push anymore. I do have some good news though...the two little girls are nursing!! :D They both gained from last night. Their birth weights were 3.6 and 3.8 and today they're 3.9 and 4.1!! :cheer: My sister has decided to name them Jade and Lily, and we are most likely keeping both of them. Chloe is going to be spayed as soon as they are old enough. Let this be a good lesson to anyone who wants to know the dangers of breeding. My mom and my sister wanted to breed Chloe so badly, even though I had warned and warned them. She didn't come from a reputable breeder, and we had no idea about her lines. This is what can happen, and I'm so sorry it had to happen to her, but my mom was in the room when I had to pull out the boy...and she was crying. She said, "I will never bred another one of my babies again." Thank God that Chloe and her babies are ok...but I'm glad that a lesson was learned here. Thank you all again for being so supportive. :) |
What a harrowing experience! I am glad the two little girls are doing well!Get some rest. |
Nicki, thank you for sharing you sad experience with us. Thank God you were there to help her. I hate to think what would have happened if it were not for you being there to help her. I am soooo happy to hear the girls are nursing and gaining. Good job! |

OMG! I am so very sorry. I had posted on another thread about the little girls, and thought everything was ok. I didn't realize how the delivery went. My prayers go out to Chloe, the babies and your family. :hands::hands: darlene |
