Rude is rude is RUDE.. not sure why you have such a chip on your shoulder, but I think it is

time to go find the "block" button

Adios! :wave4: No chip on my shoulder...but if you can't take the criticism, don't dish it. I can take it. And if replying in such a manner that I did constitutes to you that I'm rude, then I'm rude. Have a nice day!

I know some people crate train and when done properly the dogs are fine. I am not in favor of those breeders that raise dogs in cages like that were rabbits or chickens. Too me that is sad.

Dog room! Now that I love! :D

Spend some more time on the forum. I was speaking to Sunnie, but thanks for clarifying for me! :aimeeyork

I wish you would reconsider this. This is not the same as a dog being in a crate 24/7 like at a pet store. Crates at puppy mills often have wire bottoms for easier cleaning that is very hard on the dog. In both of these cases, I think the crates are bad. However a nice clean crate that is used as a bed is a different matter. How else is a breeder supposed to keep dogs separated? My vet told me to crate train Joey, and he explained that dogs like the den-like feeling of the crate, and they feel safe. Joey absolutely loves his crate and often goes inside it on his own. Dogs are different than humans and have different needs so don't make the assumption that they don't like this because you would not like it.

Oh I totally agree. What shocked me was that they were on tables. Having a crate on the floor as a bed seems more logical. But again, MHO. ;)

PS. Not all dogs like the crate. I used to crate Baby for 4 hours while at work, come home for lunch and there would be a huge pile of vomit right outside the door. :( She hates the crate.

I agree. In fact, the puppies I saw at a pet store were in wire cages with wire bottoms. They were peeing and pooing wherever because it would just fall through to litter at the bottom. I would imagine they will be hard to train because they are used to going wherever and whenever. Also, I noticed they had a very hard time walking on the wired bottom and kept sliding or falling, or their little feet would get caught and slide through. These puppies were way to small for a wired bottom, IMO.:(

Politely asking.... just where can you show me I criticized you in any way? There is no reason for you to be rude you ARE being. And I did not YELL anywhere.. I emphasized certain words. I WILL have a nice day because I KNOW that I have not been rude to anyone. All that is asked for is a little respect.... something some people have never learned.

Those wire cages are HORRIBLE on a dogs feet & probably their emotions too. :thumbdown:thumbdown Why someone would put a dog on WIRE is because they're TOO LAZY TO CLEAN UP on a regular basis.

I think it's like torturing a dog to keep them in a wire cage ....making them stand / sleep and eat on bare wire.... it must hurt so much....

I'm against pet stores but walked into one near where I just moved thinking it was like PEtsmart - they had 5 puppies in a big 'enclosure' (CAGE) but it had NO wires and they actually were playing....but that's not the norm for dogs in cages.

Post #93. Seriously, I don't want to argue with you. And if you knew me, you'd know I'm very respectful. But when someone quotes me, and I think they are being rude/disrespectful/etc., I respond as such.

I've learned a lot on YT in the years I have been here. I didn't like the fact this person had cages on tables. It looked like a pet store to me. That was my honest opinion, and I didn't need to be criticized for it. To me, that isn't someone I'd want to do business with. You jumped in and quoted me as if I was wrong, when it was my opinion. I'm not wrong for what I believe, just as you are not. I think we need to agree to disagree. Is that okay?

Did you see that Oprah show about mills? I was sitting in the gastroenterologist's office and was crying! :(

I bred my small yorkie..

If you are going to breed a small yorkies you MUST take her to the vet first for testing and to see if her body build is good for breeding. My Kiki is 3.8- 3.9 pounds and she is due 2morrow. You also MUST make sure that your male is from tiny lines so he wont throw big pups..my male weighs 3.4 pounds on a fat day.

:( no I wish I did - I was at work....but - She really reached alot of people. My mom who's listened to me for YEARS about puppy mills watched it and called me that night saying she had NO idea about the horrors of mills ....I was like - "WHAT ?? All this time I've talked to you about Mills and pet stores & you never heard a word I said" ?

(my mom is like Edith Bunker and I love joking with her) :):)but in all honesty - she (my parents) really didn't know even with me explaining it to them...... so GOOD FOR Oprah - I wish she'd do more -

I wish they ALL would do more - can you imagine if Ellen and all those shows dedicated a show a month to helping pets & exposing the awful truth about this country ? meaning we are FULL OF PUPPY MILLS and some seriously scary pet stores and so called 'breeders'...they could make such an impact.

sorry if you felt like I was crtitcizing you.. but I clearly stated that it was YOUR opinion. I took issue with some of the other comments that insinuated from looking at one picture that this was an undesirable breeder breeding undesirable puppies in conditions no better than a pet store. All I was pointing out is that by looking at that one picture it is unfair to the breeder to recieve that kind of label on a public forum. I don't know this breeder and neither do you (an assumption on my part). There is already so much drama here that it isn't right for our members to be bickering. ABSOLUTELY! Let's agree to disagree!

I really think there has just been a misunderstanding. The reason Sonya quoted you was because she felt it was not right to make a blanket statement that anyone who keeps their dogs in cages are bad breeders. Sonya was just making a point that you can't judge a breeders respectability by looking at a few photos. Yes, many bad breeders do that but there are many reputable show breeders that keep their dogs in similar setups, say while grooming, etc. I do agree after looking closely at the website that it is one that I would not want to buy from but that is JMHO. We are all passionate about are babies and we all have different opinions on things and we should not get offended every time someone just states a different opinion. I always appreciate all input, whether I agree with it or not.
