Wow, if you have to be "off in their kennel" (I take it the dogs are not in the home?) from 7am to 5pm (what happens from 5pm to 7am? ), that seems like an aweful lot of dogs to be cared for. Breeding dogs is not a factory type "business". Sorry but it sounds more like they are raising livestock than house pets. :( I don't care how much they are supposedly played with, dogs are not to be mass produced out in a garage or polebarn like in a factory. I go on more about everything you said...but I should probably think about it before I post my feelings on it. |

That says it all. When I see someone listed as USDS I just plain feel SORRY for the dogs. No one can tell me how much these so called breeders CARE because if they did - they wouldn't be listed as a puppy mill. Sorry - the zipper undid for a minute. Shutting up now. |

I am so confused about this still  Are people listed as dog breeders on the USDA list, or are their names just on it for being a USDA premises? I am required to have a USDA premise number for our goats for 4-H. No livestock can touch fairgrounds without an eartag or chip with their USDA number. We also cannot sell a baby goat without it having our tag as well for disease tracking purposes in the event of a breakout of a disease. Does that mean I am on the list too? Is there a specific dog area so I am not classified with puppymillers?? |

Don't want to ruffle feathers but take your time when making a decision like this. You're far better off buying from a small breeder who will actually know their lines and where the puppy actually 'came from'. ALL people who are selling puppies are going to be nice. It's in their best interest to be nice ...they're working to SELL you a puppy. You have to look beyond that and into what type of breeder they are. Anyone can tell you what you want to hear.... but in many cases 'nice' words are just that - WORDS. I say that from experience because my Chanels breeder had all the words too once the sale was done - so was she. She became totally rude when I called her the 2nd week we had her. Long story ...but there's too many breeders that really do care about where their puppies go. |
ps....barring a few comments I just made - the rest of my last post referred to about breeders in general - not just those listed as USDA. What I said can apply to small breeders too - there are good and bad. I'm sure I ruffled feathers but anyone can up about USDA listings and why one would be classified as such. |

give me a break In my opinion, any breeder that cares about their puppies would know where they ended up living and who purchased them. How could a caring breeder send their tiny puppies to petstores or brokers to be sold to whoever by whomever? I'm glad the parents and pups are treated well ( according to the breeders son) HOWEVER, you as a breeder, are ALSO responsible to place the puppies in wonderful forever homes and not be passed off to any place/person/petstore that will give you $$ for them. End of story.... |

Indeed a puppymill breeder this breeder is indeed a puppymill breeder....anybody who houses dogs and breeds them in a repeated fashion for a profit.in my opinion is a puppy mill..yorkies are made to be a pet or best friend....they are not raised to be sold for breeders and caged in cages and bred repeatedly to have pups....what kind of person are these people....sounds like all they care for is MONEY...how would they like to be put in a cage and bred over and over there whole life...and when you are to old you are shipped off to the nursing home.....i think today that most people feel like money is the answer....what happen to having a pet in your home...and what happen to these people, that they went into this type of business.....i do not think that caging an animal up for life is the answer......sounds like the girl is making excuses for there parents...i doubt all of these things are true..this is how people hide behind the real truth...there is no excuse for what these people do..someday there day will come...and better soon than later for our precious pets...Lets stand together and shut these type of people down..Puppymill 's are a disgrace to the United tates of America.... |
no news is good news how do :animal-payorkie people feel about this breeder puppymill |

Tammy I've seen her kennel and hard work. It was extraordinary and can't see ever purchasing a dog from anyone but Tammy. |
Tammy I wished I had been more active on this website after reading comments about Tammy. People who are making comments have probably not been to her kennel. She never struck me as trying to just make money because she was too selective in the people she would sell her puppies to. Tammy also made follow-up phone calls after money was exchanged to check on the puppies she's sold. She also ask for feedback so she can record on her records. Yorkies are her PASSION, not just a business. |

Juding from previous exchanges in this thread, several things are obvious: 1) She sold to a broker and had no idea who ended up with one of her pups nor did she have any voice in screening and selecting the dog's owner. 2) She's a registered USDA breeder...meaning that she has to adhere to THEIR guidelines which include housing dogs like livestock, not loved family pets. :thumbdown 3) Apparently, she sells to pet shops too: http://www.petshoppuppies.com/report.asp?ID=71A0759 For most here, these things are inexcusable. And this breeder made no effort to try to explain them. To see someone trying to downplay and justify them under the reasoning that "you haven't been there in person, you don't know" is laugable. |
