Females are usually ready to breed anywhere from the 9th through the 15th day of their heat cycle. Can you tell us a little about your female? How old is she and how big is she? Do you own your own male also? There is so much to learn about breeding dogs. |
Hi, suzy is 6lbs and yes my sister has a 6-7 lb boy and they have been around each other from day one. We are not into selling, just want their baby for us. This is suzy's second heat. When does the bleeding start? I mean how far into the cycle? She is real swollen and is not bleeding hardly any.Have been through this once before but been awhile, so don't remember alot about it.THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP |
Some female don't bleed a lot. They are in heat a total of 21 days. Usually the female starts being receptive to the male about 10 or 11 days after she first starts bleeding. If the male has been used for breeding before, he should know when she is ready. It is advisable not to leave them together unsupervised. |
