about a week before pebbles had her puppiues when i would lay her on her back to rub her tummy you could SEE the puppies moving. it was like someone was in there and trying to get out through her stomach! but they were very big puppies so im not sure if thats normal. |
11 month pregant Amanda Relax, stop taking her tepature so much,Like I said 2 to 3 x daily .Same time everyday ,record it so you can compare, As the chewing is nerves. My youngest girl did it the whole time before and after. Like I said she will let him know if she does not want him in there or near her, dont treat him like it is something bad. This is a family.I've been breeding for over 15 years.Dogs are like us they need you and they family some time.As long as it is quite ,She will be fine. When she goes off food and stays in her box and does not come out evan for you then its for real. But I have had some dogs that do eat the same day they deliver. |
Amanda, this is so exciting for all of us!! I hope you don't mind that you have about a hundred people peering over your shoulder while only about 20 of 'em are at all helpful! ;) The rest of us just want to watch and see the babies come! I love hearing the awe in your posts. I'm sorry that you hadn't planned for this, but I'm happy that you have found so much support here. But she is very lucky to have you (especially now that you won't be taking her temperature 17 times a day! :lol tears). Oh, and Stewie too! Oh, and your hubby too! What a lucky lil mama!! |
<----of no help at all but anxiously waiting. Oh, one thing you forgot-cigars (bully sticks) for Stewie to hand out after the birth. Good luck to all. |

hanging out in the waiting room also....best wishes for a healthy quick birthing. |
Read all of the threads and anxiously await the birthing (whelping). Much easier to read from this side than be on your side. Warmly, Deborah PS Years ago, my pup had 5 babies, and she did it all by herself as we watched. I was so naive about the entire process of feeding, etc. YT is the most wonderful source of information. |

Well we're fixing to pile up in my bed since a storm is coming through.. Still no puppies or signs of labor.. I am sooo very concerned because I cannot feel any movement and never have. She is huge, the vet says any time now and yet when i push on her belly I do not feel puppies, movement, bodies, hard knots....Nothing to make me think that there are babies in there yet I have seen them on ultrasound and xray.. What does that mean? Could she still have 2 weeks to go and the vet be wrong??? Or is it just cause I have no idea what I am doing or what I am looking for??? |
what does her tummy look like when she is laying on her back? |
You poor thing......I can just hear the worry/stress in your posts. Easier said then done I'm sure, but try not to worry so much. You know the old saying, "A watched pot never boils"....... Quote:
In any case, try not to worry so much......I'm betting she will have them this weekend sometime. ((((((Hugs and good luck to you)))))) |
Thanks Rose, it takes some work to go back through these longer threads and I think it is helpful to do at this point. Okay....so now we just wait. |
I'm in the waiting room too!!:) |
