AKC policy change......
 
Has anyone noticed that on the litter record form we receive after we register the litter it now states it is to be mailed or faxed to AKC?? This is a new change I have recently noticed. I checked with other breeders who now say that their new paperworks states this too. Ugh more paperwork......

I did notice that......when I went online to register our new little Halle. I though WHAT?!?:eek: I have to mail it in???
It was so much more convenient to do it online. Oh well, they must have a reason, I guess.

When a breeder blacks out the block for limited reg. some people have been looking at it through a light to get the code for full reg. I was told we could cut the block completely out. Guess they figured this was safer.

Cut it out hmmmm I never thought of that one,lol...
Well the litter records paperwork that we fill out with all the puppies info and buyers info and keep for our records now needs to be mailed in or faxed to AKC so that would show them if it is full or limited too now.

i am having a brain fart! What are you talking about in the above sentence. You mean that they are asking us to mail them back the paper they include with the litter registration that we fill out when a puppy leaves.? Isn't this the one we always keep in our records? I know I am going to say DUH when you explain it but somehow I am:confused:

Yes that's exacally what I am talking about...The new forms say to mail or fax back to AKC. So I guess we make copies for our records if we mail it back and if we fax it to them then we keep the original. Apparently this is a very new change cause some paperwork is the new form and some is the old forms my friend received. I got the new forms here.

So what happens if we decide not to sell the entire litter? In my case, I am holding my two girls back for awhile. Not sure if I will send the puppy papers in or not to get the actual certificate put in my own name. I am wanting to wait until they are a few months old and decide. i know we have several months to send the application in on a puppy. I really don't see how this is going to benefit AKC since the new owners register them.

It doesn't look like there is a time frame to send the form in Dee. Im not sure what benefit this offers them yet, but I guess it does allow them to see who the puppies were sold too and if its full or limited reg.

Now what does AKC think they are going to do with all these papers...they're going to need to buy a new warehouse. :rolleyes:

If you use the AKC website to do your paperwork, you can print off the litter record from there.

Is it the ones just recently mailed out? I have one that I rec'd for Gidget's litter in February and it doesn't say anything about mailing or faxing it in. Unless I've missed it, I've read it and don't see it. Where exactly does it say this? I know I'm sounding like a real doofus..lol

well my guess will be that by having access to the new puppy owners info , they can contact them directly if puppies haven't been registred and try to get them to do the registrations. I know I have been checking on my litters and many of them haven't been registered so that's less incoming money to akc. I'm pretty sure AKC wants to make sure evreyone gets regi$tered.
