all girls and their weights are 4.7,4.7, 4.6, 4.2, 4.6, 3.8, 5.5. they are tiny I let all my kids stay home from school that still live at home, all 5 of them, soon after the 2 others followed. Angel only has 4 nipples that the pups latch onto with difficulty. I shaved all the hair off the inverted nipples. should I supplement with formula or just rotate the pups in and out of the whelping box with her?
I don't know what to tell you about Angel, I just wanted to say Congratulations! You need an experienced one to tell you. :congrats:
I probably would change them off and on, and give them the supplement too. Maybe ask your Vet.

Well looks like we are expecting 4 lil ones:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork any day now. I could clearly see the spines. Looks like 3 are in 1 horn and 1 in the other. I thought that was very odd. Skittles is acting like her normal self with the exception of beggin when we are eating. Guess maybe she is storing up for all the nursing she will be doing soon! lol

How are the rest of you ladies in waiting that are due this week?????????

After takin gher to the vet there were no more puppies the vet said it must of been feces. she had 7 females. she retained 1 placenta even after getting the oxytocin injection. the puppies want to nurse continuously. I have been able to shave all the hair away from her inverted nipples and the pups have been able to latch onto them. I have been using karo syrup and puppy formula to keep there strength up to grab ahold and stimulate milk production. I am not sure a let down reflex has occured but she is letting them all latch on and she will roll over on her back to let them have easier access to the nipples on the other side. she has made up for not eating over the last 24 hours.

Hey Katelin or anybody, do you let your moms alone after whelping at night or do you stay up with them. I don't sleep very well at night anyway. so I will probably reposition the puppies from behind her etc. but if you have a mother that appears to be caring for them well after birthing. I was lucky she gave birth to her first 7:14 am this morning and then all were born by 10:40 am . The vet gave her a shot of oxytocin and as of 9:19pm I am sure she has one reatined placenta. The vet said just call in the morning.Is antibiotics enough to prevent sepsis from occuring? Has anyone had to go through this? I thank God the whelping was fairly easy for her.

Congratulations on your 7 little ones. I can't believe all girls. Lucky you! Good luck with them! My Gina (bellagina) is holding a temp of 99.2 and the babies have moved down. She is by my side all the time. I hope her whelping goes as quickly as Angels. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I can't even eat! LOL

OOOO I bet you are just on pins and needles! What day is she on? Skittles is on day 62 and her temp this am was 99.6. She was acting fine, following me around and eatting a lil bit. Do y'all still let your moms to be jump on the furniture or even jump down. Most of the time I put her up on the couch or where ever she is wanting to be but there are times when i don't catch her and she'll have gotten up there already. Or she will get down unexpectedly. It worries me some and I am just unsure of what she should be doing and should not be. Anyone???:confused:

Skittles seems to be doing just fine. I can tell the pups have moved down. I'll post a pic I took of her the day before yesterday in a lil while. And heck I'll take another of today, lol. She woke me up at about 3am scratching at her bowl, it was empty. So she ate a lil then but didnt really eat this morning when we were all up doing our morning routine. She is really starting to not like the thermometer but I am sure they all go thru that. I have no prediction for when I think she will go into labor. :aimeeyork

Looks like Barbara08 (BellaGina) is due next on the 23rd. This is funny as my daughter's name is Barbara, and her birthday is May 23rd.

yes, I am on pins and needles. She is on day 61 today. She is due Friday, May 23rd. Gina is eating a little at a time and just laying around. No signs of labor at this time. She only goes on my couch when I'm sitting on it and I have to lift her up(she can't get up on her own) and put her down. She has jumped down but I try and keep her from doing this. I'm taking all precautions. I guess you can call me a protected mom. She looks so depressed at times. I know that she is very uncomfortable. The little ones are very active in her tummy. My husband and I keep telling her its almost over (the pregnancy that is) and the real fun begins. The x-rays showed 6 definite, possibly 7. 4 of them on her right side and 2 (possible 3) on the left side. I hope they are all girls like Angel had. Wishful thinking! Keep us updated on Skittles.

That's a good name! If I can say so myself! LOL She just might go on the 23rd the way things are progressing. I hardly got any sleep last night. I kept waking up and checking on her. I think I will be a zombie if this continues until Friday. LOL.... I will need alot of caffeine until then.

Well then I am sending lots of coffee. LOL !!! This will tell my age some, but my Barbara will be 37 on the 23rd. and her middle name is Anne, like the song!:D
I hope your baby does make it till the 23rd, even if I have to send you lots of caffeine. :p

Too funny...my middle name is Ann as well...without the e I'm a little older than your daughter. Thanks for the caffeine... Tell her Happy Birthday from me! I will keep you posted.
