Just got back from vet and she said there are three beautiful babies. She could not tell me the sex of them HA HA!!!!!:p All look very healthy and she should have them in no more then 3-4 days. :D Said heads, spines and ribs are all well-developed. :thumbup::thumbup:

Awww, Sue your gonna have three little babies. Don't you just feel better now that you have seen them on the xray. I always feel great after that. I'll be watching. Good luck.

My poor Jinger has been laying around all day looking pretty miserable! And it IS definately a consolation, I LOVE this site and appreciate all the support and love reading about other experiences. The waiting process sure doesn't get easier every time!! Come'on pups!

Yes katelin I do feel better about seeing them and knowing they are all healthy. :) Cant wait to see and hold them in person. The waiting game begins.

So, I had originally thought that my sister told me her Pepper was due on the 15th, but she said no it was the 20th. Guess what - older sis was right. Pepper has had 3 pups this evening. My sis will call me when she's finished. I think I'm getting one of her girls! Go Pepper.

Come on Jinger! Clear the way for Fancy and Kandie.

Still NOTHING!!! Jinger began scratching around 5:30 this morning and she is now laying in her whelping pen looking quite miserable. She spent most of the night under the couch up until this point. I rescheduled my vet appointment for tomorrow because I think it will be any minute now!! (Even though I've been saying that since MONDAY!)

Drum Roll ................. Pepper had 3 boys and 2 girls - all are nursing and doing well this morning. My sis said the last one was a 2.1oz boy, but he seems to be strong and eating. So, I can get one of her girls and HOPEFULLY at least one girl from Yahtzee. My hubby has said that I can keep any and all girls Yahtzee has this litter. I'm hoping for FIVE!

Hey! Well, Fancy will not eat a thing. I just went to Winn-dixie to buy a few things but mainly to get Fancy some canned puppy food..beef chunks with gravy...HER FAVORITE and she will not touch it...it is so funny she will sit beside her bowl like she wants it so bad but she will not touch it...and she would not eat a saltine cracker and she loves them...her temp is 99.4..it has been lower than that. She still has alot of discharge.

Princess has 6 puppies. I am kinda nervous, her other litters were all 4. Should I be concerned? Is it more difficult, more risky with 6?

Not necessarily. Ruby had 7 in 2 hours. No trouble with any of them. But you will certainly be busier, and she will need lots of nutrition to nurse all of them successfully. Good luck

My vet did NOT recommend I get the Calcium Supplement, I always have Nutrical on hand, what else should I be feeding her? I read chicken broth, is there anything else?

I know people differ on these things, but this is what I feed:

Royal Canin Puppy Kibble
Chicken Broth
Grilled or boiled chicken
cottage cheese (not too much, just a couple tablespoons)

I always give 1/2 calcium tablet for last 30 days of pregnancy and 1/2 tablet each morning and night until the puppies are weaned. I crush it up in a mortar/pestle until it is a powder and mix it with the cottage cheese. Its the first thing she eats every day.

I also gave her whelping pudding after puppies born for the first week. Just to supplement. I was feeding her every 3-4 hours because she had so many puppies to feed and she didn't want to leave them so I hand fed her most of that first couple weeks. I also fed her a little during the night during that first week when everyone was getting started.

I never had to use Nutri-Cal for Ruby. But did use Nutri-Drops for the puppies. I'm so glad I ordered it before they came. they only cost about 4.00, but I had to overnight them so it cost me $30.00 total. Still, I think it saved three of the puppies' lives.
