| Jessie Jessie is on day 57 pregnant. It will be her first litter. She weighs 4 pounds. The Xrays showed that there is definitely 2 pups. I am a bit nervous. What if she wants to give birth during the night and I am asleep. Will she cry that I can wake up ? We dont want her to sleep in our room, cause she will get on the bed with us and I am afraid that I will lay on her. Am I stupid ? What will the male do if she gives birth. Will he bother with the puppies ? What do you think about an antibiotic (sinulox) 5 days or so before the birth ?

| whelping Start now taking her temp AM/PM..that will give you a clue. If you can not have her close at night..then set your clock to check her every 2 hrs. Your girl is tiny and needs to be watched very closely. The first sign of trouble and yiu can call the vet fro a section. Never heard of an antibotic given before whelping...not sure why??? I will tell RiniW to read your post, she is an RN and knows canine meds also..best wishes |

| Pat I just looked it up, sinulox is a broad spectrum antibotic most active ingredient is amoxycillin and clavulanic acid...googled it and seems mostly available over seas Benina, what is the purpose your vet prescribed this before whelping? I agree with Pat your baby is very small she needs special attention, small moms are notorious for c-sections.

| Sinulox ?? The antibiotic (Sinulox) just for in case a minor infection occurs. Although I've decided not to give it to Jessie. She is very healthy and also does not mingle with any other animals except my male yorkie. I think what I actually wanted to say is that her environment is very secure. Also we stay in a townhouse , so they dont even move around outside much. The other vaccines she got (5 in 1 and the Coronavirus shot). I will defnitely set my alarm during the night. I am so nervous that after this I think I need to go on a relaxent for a while. Tee-hee. I am sooo greatful to u guys & gals. Thank you and will keep you posted.

| Today is the day !! Day 63. This morning she didn't want to eat. She just wanna sit on my lap. I dont know if I am just hearing voices, but I think I can hear the babies cry inside her tummy ?? Or is it just like when you're hungry and ur tummy rumble ? I've brought her everything to work with me and even the heating pad etc. I am very fortunate that it is ok at work. Will it not affect her if she is not in a well known place ? She is very secure though. I am alone in an office but occasionally people comes in. Every time somebody enters she is up and wanting to greet the person. I hope that it will be today !!!! What do you guys think (without even seeing her) There is a little bit of a "discharge" but it is transparent. I also could not take her temp, cause I dont have a thermometer. It broke week ago. Thanx. Ina

| Jesse It is better for her to be with you then at home alone..great. The clear discharge is normal..if you see any green, go to the vet right away. I would not worry about taking her temp now..she is due NOW and you are watching her closely. LOL Good luck |

| How exciting. When my pom gave birth I wasn't here. I was so upset that I missed it. I was very lucky everything went ok for her. She was only 4 lbs and gave birth to 4,,,, 2 boys and 2 girls. Hope all goes well for her.
