Does anyone know an orthopedic specialist in your area? |

The rest of the post goes on to explain. She is doing better,Now it looks even better then this morning. Do you really think this is a life or death matter????????? I'm doing the best I can for this lil one and am real happy with how her leg is looking...very happy |
im no breeder but i dont think a leg that is not perfect is a life or death situation......i have seen even three-legged doggies live very happy lives....dont worry about what everyone is saying ...that little one is getting the best attention and is gonna be fine |
vet This is NOT an emergancy...there is plenty of time to see the vet...tail docking time is fine if the vet does them for you...it is very stressful for a newborn to be poked and probed by a vet in a non-emergancy situation...these things will keep...the breeder has done nothing wrong..infact she is using wisdom...with a tiny pup there is little the vet will do right now..and it may correct...and if not, it can be splinted or surgery, but do you really think a vet would do it to a newborn...it can cause more harm then good and may not be needed... I have had breeders come crying to me over a deformity, wanting answer right away.....9 times out of 10 the problem is long gone by 8 weeks...AND I have seen breeders put this type puppy down..rarely is it necessary..most everything like this corrects or is fixable with patience...relax!!! |

I am glad you are happy with the puppies improvement but you don't even know what's wrong with it or what can be done and time may be of the essence. You can get good support on a forum but it is no substitute for veterinary care. Please bring her to a qualified veterinarian. |
This is getting rude. Prehaps Admin should close this thread Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

How many people on here feel that their dogs are like their children? If your kid had a deformed leg, would you not consider that pretty close to a life or death situation? |
Give it up already This really is not nice to keep on and on about this. Deana |

NO i do not consider a deformity of a leg as life or death...i am a surgical tech and let me tell you breathing and walking are 2 different things....yes the little pup may end up walking with a limp or even at the worst have to have the leg removed but that does not mean that it can breath and have a good quality of life....life is breathing and a heartbeat.... |
its one thing to give advice but this has gone past giving advice. These post are simply not nice. She is taking the pups to have tails docked, the vet will see the pup then. This pup is apparently doing OK and not getting worse, actually if you read the post the leg is looking better. She did not seek this board to replace her vet care. It is obvious she cares about her pups. Deana |

But anyway, I apologize to NanaD if she got offended but I this is how I am with my dogs and my kids. But I seriously cannot sleep at night if I'm worried about one of them so it's off to the pro I go. |
You know my son fell in december and broke the tibia and fibula he went to ER the didn't do anything other than ace bandaid his appt for the ortho dr was 6 days later I was upset thinking you have to be kidding me. When we finally got to see the ortho dr he told us the reason they wait before seeing the patient is so the swelling will go down by the time the ortho dr sees them. so waiting is what the ortho drs do Deana |
Exactly...we had many many patients that the original accident had been over a week because of swelling...waiting may be hard but alot of times it is the best thing |

It is a long process with ortho problems. My son just had the big screw removed and is finally doing better one big plate and 8 screws later. Deana |

If your son fell again tomorrow would you wait a few days for the swelling to go down? I doubt it. If he had a complete break it can be life threatening and the only way to know would be xray. |
Not going there. Debbi loves her kiddos and thats what is important I have lots to do today. Will catch up with YT later Deana |
Update You guys have been wonderful Once again theres always someone.... Where's my mushy tomatoes? hehe:p But anywho... My baby girl looks great!! Allie did not like the tape , so rather then have an accident when I wasnt up to watch her all night I took the taping off I had to check just now...and REALLY look to find which one it was~! It looks soooooooooo much better. I just cant believe it I'm so happy!!!!!! It is still bent a little tiny bit. And the vet will check it tomorrow. But I cant even begin to tell you the improvement. I hope if this ever happens to anyone else on here. They know it can be fixed! |

I hope you have a wonderful day~! Its nice and warm here in Ohio |
Debbi that is so great to hear....you are doing a great job......cant wait to see pics when she is about 4 weeks running around.....they are so cute when they starting walking and stumbling....good job.....:cheer: :cheer: |
good news I am happy to hear the puppy is doing well. I think I have seen and done it all at one time or the other...these things correct so fast, bones are soft and mold right back into place...much like a babies skull after birth..but there is no waiting with a stressed puppy in pain...this is not the case. When someone asks for advise...I try to give it, and then make no judgements if my advise is followed...I always caution putting a deformed pup down too soon or thinking you have to fix it the first day...they are so adaptable and much disappears in a few weeks...it is like the thread with the cleft lip pup...my friends two girls looked very deformed at 8 wks...and at 8 months the facial hair around the mouth was so long it was hard to see a problem...but several breeders told her to destroy them early on...even the vet was infavor when he saw them at 2 days...they are wonderful girls... |

If puppy had been in any pain at all I wouldnt have waited for the vet I'm just so happy this morning. Its a great day~! |
I have a grandson that was born with a club foot. It looked bad. After he was a few months old they put his foot in a plaster cast for months. Today you would never know he ever had a problem. Considering all the circumstances and all that Debbi is going through, I think she is doing a wonderful job. |

Hi Debbie. What didn't you understand? I was replying to Deana's post about her son's broken leg. I'm glad your puppy's leg is better. Obviously you didn't want my input. No problem. Thank you, I do have a wonderful day planned and I hope you have a peachy day as well. :) |
What ever happened to the litter with the first born puppy being a cleft palate? I read all the information suggested on that thread, but what was the final decision for that little puppy? Debbi, glad your little girl is doing so well. |
