Chattismom just talked to peanut and Lexi is in Labor...she has her at the vet and they are just getting started with a c-section....she needs all prayers and good thoughts

Oh Wow, this is a day isn't it. Does anyone know what happened last night and how she ended up at the vet for a c-section?

The babies are doing fine this morning. There were 3 pups total, including the first little girl who didn't make it. So there are two living babies, one boy and one girl.

Mikayla was in a panic when she had that first puppy and it was gone. I was doing everything I could to keep her calm so she would have the others safely. The little boy was born second, he was almost dead...he had the placenta wrapped around his neck somehow. I couldn't just rip it off, but I had to work quickly to get him out of the sac before he got fluid in his lungs. I opened a hole where his mouth and nose were, got the fluid out just before he aspirated, and then worked on the placenta gently. He was super weak by the time I got it off. It took me 10 minutes with a hair dryer and plenty of towels to get the life back into him. When he started moving around and kicking, and he crawled to momma to nurse furiously, there was a big sigh of relief.

Whew what a night!

Their names are Aidyn and Arrianna. I'll post pics in a little while.

thanks for the update....glad to hear that Mikayla and the 2 darlings are doing okay now....sorry for the little one you lost.....hope everything continues to go ok....prayers are with you and the little family

Poor Mikayla ...I'm sure she did panic That makes it worse trying to keep them calm while they have the rest !

Great Job saving that little guy. You really did have a night of it. Wow. I hope everyone else has an easier time of it.

Whelping can go wrong in a matter of seconds not for the weak at heart that is for sure,Glad both are doing well now though,You probably need a rest yourself girl Cant wait to see pics of the little babes.
