You will be missed I just think its sad that so many of the best are not going to be here to help lead the way. But why would they over and over want to help someone who pops on...ask the simplest questions (they should know) only to have it thrown in their face!!! I know that sometimes it may have came across as harsh. But I can understand the frustration that many of them have I agree with those who posted there are 100's....1,000's I'm sure over a period of the time that gleam so much from those who lead the way in breeding. I haven't had a lot of questions for them. I did my best to learn long before I even considered breeding. I never had an accidental breeding. I knew just what I was doing and what to expect with breeding, whelping and caring for sick mamas and babies. But I STILL learn something new here everyday. The biggest thing I take offense with is that everyone is not a BYB. I refuse to think of myself that way. I care for my babies as I did when my children were little. When I first came here I was very verbal about that. I was always nice about it tho. Tried to make a joke out of it without getting huffy. But now having been here , I do see that there ARE byb who just dont care about their Yorkies . I know that there are accidents...and the gal who took on the rescue is A1 in my book. But if you come on here with your first posts ...I'm having puppies...and posts like this and dont Know basic info. YOU DONT CARE! My hope would be that many read this section along with everything else you can get your hands on long before you even think about breeding. You will be missed and hope you come back soon |

You know, not everyone in the world wants to be a breeder. Believe me, I really don't have that much patience for people who want to breed their darling PET  But I do realize that the ones that do, must have a little bit of "breeder blood" in them. I wanted to breed every animal I have ever had in my life, starting with my hamster! The dog show world is quite foreign to most people and it's usually only after they get their first dog that they realize they could do better. I know a lot of breeders that started out with their first dog being not so good. So nobody had the right to sit in judgment because they've been breeding for 25 years because they were once young and thought they knew it all too and what they didn't, they would learn. It's not that I have any use for people who only strive to breed for pet quality because there really isn't much challenge or progression in that. Someone who has been breeding the same quality for years and years is not doing anything for the breed except for producing more puppies although I do not feel threatened by anyone who wants to breed Yorkies, I just don't feel like I have much in common with them. So, even though people come on here with newbie ignorance and it can be tiresome you never know how deep into this sport some of these people might go. It's very easy to get bitten by the show bug. |

I'm new here... and trying to piece together the story. Sounds like a veteran breeder is leaving the forum because of someone who is refusing to take her advice? This is a very cryptic thread... |

I don't believe that's it at all. |

Donna, I completely understand and couldn't agree with you more! You know someone else that feels the same and she said to say she's proud of you! |

We're asking the very people who love the breed the most to help people who seem to have no regard for the breed. |

I always try to keep in mind, I am trying to help the dog so I tend to be able to keep trying to help out even when it is getting a bit frustrating. It does help you stay when you think of it that way. I have found there have been some people that really do appreciate the help. And I feel if we cannot reach out a helping hand for someone that we are turning our back on our breed in a way. We can make a difference and when it gets to be too much just quietly take a deep breath, a few days/week or so away and come back and help some more and we can all check in and step up and help more when we notice one of the others is taking some time away from the breeders section. I do enjoy helping people and I love this breed. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Well, I hope some of you will stick around, otherwise YT will have to rename this forum to the Backyard Breeder's Forum. |

You can't blame the ethical breeders for not wanting to be a part of advising people clearly breeding for the wrong reasons. I really respect the ones doing this for the right reasons. Breeding can be done the right way if someone will just put a little effort into it and be willing to learn. I'm sure Donna will always be willing to help someone that truly cares to learn and wants to go about things the right way. |
