I just hope she actually will see some jail time.. it's amazing how few actually end up in jail.

Elizabeth Davis appeared in court this afternoon. I checked on her status at the San Diego police website , looks like she can post bail now for $170,000.

It was $595,000 yesterday, why the change, I don't know. Hopefully, she doesn't have the money to post bail...

She will appear in court again July 29th................

I can't believe she got her bail reduce. I hope she doesnt have the money for the bail and rots in jail.

I think the bail is a portion of the bond.

Actually bail/bond is just the amount of money/property required by the court from an accused person in order to be released from custody. Supposedly to insure their appearence in court. Basically it is the same thing, but people also use the term bond to refer more specifically to a type of surety. You go to a bondsman and pay them usually like 10% and they issue the court a surety in the amount of your total bail and act as an insurer to make sure you are there.

Sometimes a court will only let a certain percent of bail be posted by a bondsman, is that what you were meaning?

Does anyone know if California has bail bondsmen? If they do then she would only need $1,700 (if it's set at 10%)to be released. Wisconsin doesn't have bail bondsmen and requires the full amount. Often, at the second court appearance, the judge will reduce the bond amount which is what I'm guessing happened in this case.

This is so true. That is why we have so many losers rotting in our jails though.
