i came here to ask for guidance and help., I never thought people here can be so cruel and very judgemental. i love the bred to, and would not do anything to disgrace it. I paid alot of money towards them 3, more than what I spend for myself. People who criticizes me, look around you... are you who says who you are? |

Even now that you are not sure if a breeding took place, in order to register through AKC you will need to do this entire DNA workup. |
I know you love your babies.:aimeeyork Hopefully it was to early in her cycle and they didnt breed. But if they did we're here for you. Just be open to listening to them and, You'll find great info and people here.  . |
If she just came in to heat 5 days ago, she wouldn't be ready for the male yet..here's a wonderful website that my old vet has up.. http://animalpetdoctor.homestead.com/Reproduction.html |
Ok you can call me mean and rude. You have had your dogs for years, and said you had them health tested and intended to breed this whole time, and now you come on asking the simple basic questions about if your males could get her pregnant? I mean come on now....... :thumbdown What did you do the other times she came into heat? If you don't have the $$ to buy pens, crates or whatever to do breeding properly ,and keep them seperate, and know when they were bred and to which male bred them. Then don't breed ! The next question will be how long till she has her pups, and how do I know if she is pregnant and how do I care for the pups?? All of these questions need to be researched way ahead of time ! Honestly , if you don't know what day your female came into heat , or what day of her heat she is fertile , or if both males could breed her, then you are FAR FROM READY TO BREED YORKIES!! It's ok to ask questions, but the basics should be known way before you intend to breed !! Again, call me mean, but you have owned your dogs for enough time and planned on breeding them for this whole time that you should have done your research. There are so many books, internet sites, your vet that did the health testing, to ask these questions ahead of time so you would be ready when the time comes. |
advice doesn't need to be nice IMO it needs to be honest, that's the whole point of asking right? I also agree that all these questions should have been done BEFORE breeding, and if you don't have money for crates how will you afford her pregnancy, a possible c/section, vaccination puppies, etc, etc, etc..? Nobody is doubting your love for your babies or judging you, but you must admit its an irresponsible thing to breed without the proper knowledge and you cant expect approval when doing so |

Don't worry about it. Dog people always argue. Welcome and join the club :) Now if your post was ignored, that would be something to be upset about. So get a thick skin and stick around. |

Either way, seems that there is a hefty fee to pay and one that I hope I NEVER have to pay. |

i've been watching this thread and i think its getting a little ridiculous. The OP has posted that she has had these dogs for a few years and they were never bred. So obviously she knows how to separate them otherwise they would have bred a long time ago. The OP also said that they were all tested for everything that was asked. This forum has become very cynical. Every knew person that comes on here with a story like this is immediately thought to be irresponsible and uneducated. Why can't you take what she says as truth? This thread shouldn't have turned out the way it did. She came on here looking for advise and an answer to her question, NOT to be called names and disrespected. I think a lot of people need to take a step back and look at themselves. No body is perfect. Mistakes and accidents happen. that doesn't make someone a bad person or an irresponsible breeder. These matings weren't suppose to happen. I believe she said she was still researching and learning so she's not going to know every answer there is to every incident that may arise. She came here looking for help and look where it got her. Why should she come back and ask for more help? just so she can be put down again? Its a shame what happens to new people who are looking to bred or who want to get a "teacup" yorkie. Maybe these people just don't know everything about the breed. THAT is what this forum is for. We are here to talk about our yorkies and help each other out. I recall accidental breedings happening to other members that were here for a few years and nobody said anything bad about them. But if a person comes on here and there first post has something to do with breeding everyone jumps all over them. I'm getting sick of it and usually don't reply to those threads anymore. YT was not like this before and its taking a sad new direction..... |

Dogs can open doors, my Suzy can for sure. It takes her 30 seconds to figure out how to open screen doors, push over barricades... she sees a problem and gets around it. Mistakes happen, dogs get out. Sometimes all the "common sense" in the world won't stop two dogs who want to do what nature says they should be doing. |

My question is, can anything happen between them 3? Did any breeding took place? Ok, this will happily be my last post when it comes to these type of questions. I am far from perfect and have had accidents happen to me as well. But dog gone it, as a future breeder, and owning your dogs for years, you should at least know that if your female is in heat, and she gets in with your male ,breeding could happen. I am really not a mean person and have always tried to help anyone if I can. This post just hit a nerve, as I am concerned about all the breeding of Yorkies ( and other breeds) that seems to be taking place without prior knowledge of the very basics, or having the $$ to , again due the basic things that a breeder needs to breed a dog, raise the pups, and keep the moms safe. Again, I'm sorry I was offensive and will not be posting to these type of questions in the future. |
