Dogs breeding but not in heat?
I know this sounds rediculous, but Lola is not in heat. My mom told me that while I was at church last night, she went to let my dogs in my house after she let them out to go potty, and Lola and Joe were hooked together. :confused: I said "What do you mean?" and she thought I was stupid. I told her Lola isnt even in heat, isnt due to come into heat for a couple more months, and I planned on her breeding then, but she has had no signs of coming into heat. Lola is OBVIOUS when she is in heat. She bleeds a lot, she swells huge, her boobs get big, and she doesnt let Joe NEAR her. The only thing different I have noticed about her over the past 2 weeks is that she has been holding her tail down. Her tail has never been down, its always been super tightly curled up. I thought perhaps she was holding it down because Diesel keep biting it and pulling on it all the time :rolleyes: I even checked her 2 days ago because I noticed Joe trying to mount her (which isnt terribly uncommon anyway) a lot, and figured she could go into heat early, but there was nothing. She is shaved right now too (posted about how TICKED I was at the groomer), so I would REALLY notice the swelling.
I asked my mom if she was sure they were hooked together. Once again she thought I was stupid and got offended that apparently I thought she was stupid being that she used to breed and show dobermans, but it just made no sense to me.
My mom said that maybe he raped her :confused: For one thing, Joe is so passive, he wont even eat his food until the other dogs are done eating. And another thing, when she was in heat last time, I didnt have to worry about them breeding because she wouldnt let him.
I would be happy if they did indeed breed, since I planned on it anyway, but I didnt plan on it right now, and I am very confused as to how this could have happened. |
