[QUOTE=kelkiss5;1829013]I think that is such a great idea, I have never heard of it here. It would be so good though. So if you dont mind me asking, what do they come out looking for???./QUOTE] Here are AKC rules and regulations for breeders: http://www.akc.org/rules/record_keeping.cfm On AKC's website there is a down loadable form called "Dog ownership & Breeding Records". This form needs to be filled out for each AKC dog on your premises. |
Im sorry that someone feels they have to be so mean and cold hearted. We all need to feel sorry for that person, because they obviously are very unhappy. Dont let them rain on your parade. Linda |
Kimberly, never worried whether or not you would pass. Since I have personally been in your home at different times, many times as a drop-in, know how you keep your records and the care you give your "kids", knew you would pass with flying colors. |
CONGRATS!!! I had NO doubt that you would pass!!!!!!!!!!! I was on pins and needles on my first inspection as I didnt know what to expect and had heard horrible things about inspections. My inspector was NOT nice and VERY to the point!!! But I passed anyway.:) |
I'm glad everything went well. As for that nasty person. What goes around comes around....Rrrrrrrrrr |
I'm very happy for you that all went well :) and hopefully, those people that have nothing better to do than be ugly will get a life :D I won't hold my breath...but here's to hoping :D :D |
I'm so glad I read this forum!!! I have never been inspected by AKC but I have been inspected by my local SPCA for the last 4 years in a row. They do not look at records, just that the dogs are fed and have fresh water and in suitable living conditions, etc. and they do show without warning. For AKC purposes I keep copies of everything...copies of past dogs I've owned registrations, copies of signed health guarantees, filled in and signed pup applications when they go to their new homes, I keep all my breeding and mating records online on AKC.org but I never knew I should have the downloadable form for each individual adult I have!!! Learn something new everyday...!!! Thank you!!! |

I also just had my first inspection. All went well. BUT I didn't use the downloadable form either. I just used the form that comes with the litter registrations to put the buyers and pup info on , and then stapled on my contracts with info such as DOB, parents, etc. I keep all my breeding dates and due dates on a calander. He gave me a green book with all the forms so I have to go and fill out and when I breed I have to write in on the forms and not just my calander. No big deal. I have a question for him about DNA. I bought a in 2003 pup and used him as a stud later and had 3 litters that yr so I DNA'd him. I got the DNA papers back and all seemed ok with no problems. A few yrs later I got a report that my studs sire was wrong. Now all my sire's pups AKC papers were going to be on hold and could be pulled if they didn't get the right info and DNA on the other possible sire to my pup I bought. IT WAS A MESS and I had buyer calling me to ask what was going on. I had sold 1 male to be used as a stud and they had sold pups. I asked AKC why they didn't check my pups DNA against his sires DNA ( on record) to see if there was a problem BEFORE they sent my mine and I bred him thinking everything was ok. Seems pretty stupid to even do DNA unless they are going to check it to make sure it's correct. He told me they are supposed to do that at AKC. When it happened, AKC told me that they don't do that and if I wanted it checked it would be a extra charge  I asked if there was anything in writing or on their website about this issue and he told me no. Does anyone know if they do check it before a incorrect DNA Cert. is sent out? |
Congrats Kimberly! You have beautiful dogs! |
I am glad you passed your inspections even though I have never been to your place. But I have considered you to be one of the upmost breeders on here I can't believe this person is being so vindictive but I suppose when you don't have anything better to do with your life this is how you spend your days. :animal-pa |

Kim's Inspection I was in Kim's home 3 days in November, while in Portland picking up my Poker. She takes excellent care of her dogs and never could anyone doubt that if they had been there. Love her yorkies and would give anyone that asked an excellent reference on Kim's yorkies You go girl, some people are just sick! Keep up the good work. |
Never doubted you would have passed. I will always be grateful for having helped me with Rylee this passed fall. You are a valuable source of information and a great mentor! Been avoiding YT lately....there's a weird vibe in the air! |
:D Thanks everyone for your support, you all are too kind...loving the yorkies is the easy part, raising their pups is a blessing...thank god Karma is alive and well, it has finally come full circle!:D |

There's someone out there with 'personality issues' who think nothing of butting their big nose into peoples personal business. It's vicious. |

Kim, it must make you feel vindicated on some level but just move on and keep up the good work.:) |

Stalker is a 'general' term for someone who becomes obsessed. I wasn't targeting anyone since I have no clue as to what's going on - but it still stands to reason - anyone getting involved in someones personal business who has no reason to - or is out to ruin them in some way is a NET Stalker. |
I just went to your website. Beautiful dogs! To bad there are such mean spirited people in the world. |

I just had to post this. My children and I visited Kimberly's house last Friday and OMG, she has such beautiful Yorkies. All of them! :) Her house is beautiful, well-kept, and very clean. The area where she keeps her Yorkies, really clean, well-lit and lots of room!! She should be proud of herself. The lady is amazing, very fun to talk to, made my children (who are actually teenagers LOL), feel at home (so did her friend Alana). I can always tell when people are genuine and Kimberly is just that. What a neat lady and glad to call her my friend. Thanx Kimberly for the wonderful visit. Alexa, Nicholeus and I appreciate your kindness - hope to see you and all the pups (especially Miracle, Billy and Twistie!!) again soon. |
You know said person has bashed and bashed on this site and certain members...you have to wonder why she can't get on with her life and just keep it moving. Very sad. |
Ok so just for my future referances how do I keep good records not that I plan to have more than one litter every year or two but I still want to do things right. Sorry dont mean to bother you but I would like to know because as of right now my plans are to breed my dogs if they pass all their health exams. Tracy |
You can down-load the AkC record keeping forms from the AKC.org web-site. And you can read up on what AKC expects form the breeder at the time of inspection. |

You are too kind Maria, it was so great to meet you and your family "what a beautiful family you have" Alana is a delightful woman, it was a pleasure having her here, she was raised in a breeding family, her aunt was president now vice president of one of the CKC chapters in Canada. The kids loved meeting you as well, hope to see you again soon along with your new little man.:D |

AKC Inspections I don't know if I should post this here or start a new thread on it either way here it goes. I have some questions and these might sound stupid! LOL! So please bear with me. I was wondering does AKC come in a inspect all breeds that is registered under AKC? I mean Show Breeders, Hobby Breeders, BackYard Breeders, Small Breeders, Breeders of multi Breeds, Registered AKC Kennel Name Breeders, AKC Champions? Any Breeders? Is there just certain types they inspect? Do they just choose to inspect U? Does there have to be a complaint against U? Do they have inspectors for each State? I was just wondering this and if they do then why are there so many backyard breeders to where like their dogs are not taken care of, under weight, ones that are to small to breed safely & such. If AKC does these inspections then how can Backyard Breeders keep breeding? I have never had an inspection myself, we've had 1 litter a year with the same female and male, we have no Reg. Kennel name with AKC. (Could I too ever be inspected?) What exactly do they consist of? What do they check for? I know they check your records, but do they check how U're Babies are taken care of? If you have a Kennel do they check your Kennel? I take very good care of our Yorkies and Babies when they have them all records are updated and kept. I was just wondered if I ever got inspected would I pass?? LOL I guess with this thread being here it now has me wondering. I mean if U have puppies to adopt out and then say someone gets mad at U for some reason about adopting the puppy and they don't adopt that puppy could they get a lot of trouble started for U through AKC? (Like when I choose to not allow Sofie to be adopted to a lady due to her wanting to breed her and I plainly stated in our Contracts that we had all our puppies on Spay Contracts, & she was upset at me over this could she have called AKC and got them to come inspect us? (She never did any of this or was there any other trouble with her.) U never know about people now days and how they can be so cruel and cause U trouble due to U not doing what they want) Sorry if some of these can't be answered, if they have already been answered in this post or if this sounds stupid. And I'm not posting this to get a disagreement started just questions I would like to know. |
