As far as Biewers being their own "breed," that also depends on who you ask--some say it is, some claim otherwise. Doesn't make it so because there are some organizations allowing them to be 'registered.' (There are some registries that allow "designer breeds" to be registered.) Each group has their own views and opinions on these and understandably each group feels they are in the right. These are not questions that you can get one, universally agreed on answer for.:) |

my Smokey is a splitter (dad-biewer/mom-yorkie).....he is CKC registered.....and yes they do sometimes take on both colors and characteristics......Smokey's body is more like his mom's and his head and legs are more like the daddy......look at my avatar.....i get asked all of the time what kind of yorkie he is........ |
He has a darling face. |
thanks....it is so strange because just a year ago i didnt even want a dog in the house...lol...and now .....well he runs the house........lol.......he just looks at me with that cute face and i melt....but he is proof that a splitter doesnt always look like a standard yorkie...he did when he was born....but he already had a white and gray chest and some white on his face... |
This is a very interesting thread on a very interesting subject and I really appreciate that everyone is asking questions and giving answers so nicely..sometimes this subject gets a bit out of hand and the information that people would like to hear gets lost in the shuffle.. Splitters (Yorkie/Biewer breedings) can be registered in Germany. I am in the process of registering a litter now. This litter is two females that look totally like Yorkies (F1) Now, next time, when I breed one of these girls with a full Biewer, I should (?) have a litter where some of the pups will look like Biewers and some will look like Yorkies. I have not done so previously, but I have been told that when I register these puppies, the ones that look like Biewers will be registered as Biewers and the ones that look like Yorkies will be registered as Yorkies.(in Germany) Neither of the two clubs I work with here in the states will register my splitter female puppies but that's OK with me as I will have them registered in Germany. All of my breeding Biewers are German registered and I will just continue to register my breeding dogs that way.. -Diana:animal-pa This is the first time I have bred the "splitters" so this information is just based on research not on to much personal experience yet so I'm open if someone has something to add. |
hi there, hope this helps you a little, my friend has got a biewer she put him to a yorkie and we got four biewer puppies, which i brought a puppy named her angel, i also own two spliters which you can see the biewer in them. the biewer over here is not known to the uk yet. |

Parti Yorkie has american roots, Biewer has its roots in Germany. Simple ;) .......:cup: ........ :2popkorn: |
Help, I'm confused. So my newest addition, Coco, is from a splitter dad and a ckc registered yorkie mom. So what is she called? I thought I knew but now I'm not sure. |
Is Coco registered? Where? That would be a starting point for what she is. |

Coco is able to be registered CKC register. Does that help. |

If she is from a splitter and Yorkie, she is a Yorkie :) |
Her mom is a yorkie and her dad is a splitter. |
I just want to say that this has been a fasinating thread. Everyone was wonderful in giving their knowledge freely and without any digs. I have a yorkie and only have seen a Biewer or partie yorkie in pictures. But I think that they are beautiful and would love to own one someday. Only time will tell, but till then I love information! :D |
