Not a breeder, just a sincere Yorkie lover. I feel a little guilty sending private messages to some of you that replied to post, because I now see your side. I for one will really limit my question, as I respect your time. May have misunderstood how to respectfully ask general Yorkie advice from knowledge YT members. Thank you for the advice you did kindly offer. Please don't let some of us new members run you off. I too will back off!!!!!!!!! |

This thread makes me very sad. I know by the names that the very members who are frustrated are the ones that I have learned so much from. I am not a breeder, but some day I hope to purchase another Yorkie. From your knowledge I have garnered information for that time. Thank you so much. There are those in every part of life that ask for advice and get angry when it is given---friends, family, co-workers, bosses, acquaintances. Please keep your chins up. I know that every day there are new members who can learn from you. Maybe not breeders but "everyday folk" like me. |

I ask the breeders questions sometimes. I think anyone who is sincere and not trying to stir things up should use the search function at the top of the screen first to see if their question has been answered already. If you aren't finding the answer you need, ask away. :) |
UGH...I hate lying, greedy breeders   :thumbdown :thumbdown Anyway, I feel like it's worth it to keep educating...if even ONE person learns from it, then it's all worth it |

I just want to thank all of you for answering many of the questions that I had when I was breeding my Tinkerbell. I had done tons of research, but nothing comes close to the information that I recieved from YT. I am sure that I was annoying at one time to because I wanted to make sure that I was going to do everything in my power to have my Tinkerbell have a safe and as easy a delievery that she could have. I have learned so much from my personal experiances and from all of you. I can not thank you all enough. I am sure that there are plenty of people out there that are just like me and ask the same questions over and over and over again. I know that it get annoying, but all of you guys are helping everyone so much you don't even know it. If they don't want to take your advise then that is up to them. At least you gave them the information that they needed to make a educated dicision. Thank you so much for that. You all are like family to me. |
I would just like to thank all of you for all of your great advice. I have learned so much from you all. I know you don't hear enough about how much you have helped educate people but even when you don't realize it there are plenty of us out there silently reading and learning and truly thankful for your knowledge and experiences. I understand how frustrating it can be with those who ask a questions but god forbid you answer truthfully: **Dont you see, just tell me what I want to hear--why else would I come looking on a public forum for help???** but please although i understand you needing a breather please know you a needed back asap!!!!!:D |
I love the breeder section. I have learned sooooooooo much here. It has made me think about all different aspects of breeding. I now no things that I don't think I would ever have gotten out of a book, or googling. IT has been a wealth of information to me. You no that some local people ask me questions on breeding now, and am so proud of myself to be able to answer questions, thanks to YT. It is great to think that you are able to help someone , who needs it. I here what you are saying Lisa, but I know that we can almost tell right away, who is really interested in the breed and who is really out to make $$$$. But maybe you could just shy away from these threads. No point getting worked up about it. Just don't answer then.LOL. But then I have seen some people come on here, with the idea of making $$$, and then some members here changing their minds. So sometimes it is good to answer. People have to learn, and if we can put them on the right path. Well isnt that just so rewarding. |

Welcome to the world of being from Kentucky. I understand exactly what you mean by people looking down on you. They do me too. I also wanted to tell you that i only live a few minutes away from you and am willing to help you better yourself all I can. The county you live in is so full of bad breeders putting out horrible and sick ddogs , it isn't funny. One is even a vet in your town and the dogs are AWFUL. Please privately contact me if you need any help at all. If you are sincere, there are many of us that will try to help you. |

The whole pouint of this thread is that there are just some people you can't help no matter how hard to try. |

Well, you just learn wwhere the puppymills are and what the zipcode is. Sure not all people in that zipcode are bad but you know to be very careful when dealing with breeders in that area. When I am looking to buy or just inquire about puppies, I first find out all I can about the breeders in the area. |
I think I can relate to what you are all saying even though I am not a breeder. I have a girl I work with who all the time asks me how I think she should handle a certain situation, then when I tell her what I think she immediately goes and asks someone else as if my answer wasn't good enough or the right one. Sometimes, I think she just doesn't want to go to the trouble of extra work because I'm one of those people who really likes to dot all the "I's" and cross all the "T's". That's essentially what happens a lot of times here... someone asks what you think and then when they get your honest opinion, they argue with it or discount it in someway. I guess, whenever you deal with other people no matter the subject, that is sometimes what we get. But just because they discount your opinion, doesn't mean you aren't right. I wouldn't argue, everyone is allowed their opinion and I wouldn't get all upset because truthfully, they aren't worth it if that is how they are. But please don't stop educating all of us who really do pay attention to what you say and really do learn from you. You might not know it because we just read the threads and try to absorb all the knowledge and don't really feel like we have anything worthwile to share but you have made a difference, that I can promise. |
THANKS SO MUCH GALS you have made me feel so much better. it is good to know that people really listen !!! |

Hey guys, I have asked for advice a number of times, I am not in it for the money either. You guys have been the backbone and strength that holds people like me and I am sure several others together. Without the tremendous amount of experience that you offer, The people that are in it for the love would be lost. You will always get some pathetic person that only sees dollar signs and shame on them, they suck! But keep in mind the MAJORITY of the people that look to all you guys for advice greatly appreciate your thoughts, comments, helpful hints, etc... I cant say enough about you guys. If the idiots out there that you give your valuable advice to dont follow it, then shame on them. We care ALOT about what you have to offer. When you get frustrated and lost, just remember the ones out there like me that truly appreciate you guys.:bravo: Hats off to the mentors. |

I know the aggravation some of you must feel Question after question....I couldn't come here day after day and do it...lol I think many need to know... READ first....google things..buy books or go to your local library. Research your dogs lines Get all needed tests done. Before ever thinking of breeding. Then research the whelping process And its so easy to use the search feature here. I would always do that before asking a question that had already been ask 100's of times. Educate without hate...and most of you do. And are a blessing to many here:) |
I know how you feel Lisa! It seems like they are coming out of the wood work now and using yt as a tool to further their own greed! Its hard to stomach sometimes its as if they are scurrying roaches in a lit room!! I have nothing nice to say so I say nothing at all when I come across their posts!!! |
i do want to help the people who are doing this correctly and with the right intentions. it's the people who just adopt any yorkie and say...."i am going to breed her" with out any consideration of what type of yorkie they just adopted or what kind of puppies they will produce. they know nothing about these soon to be poor mommies. no history, no nothing. |
