Ok here's an update: I went to pick Mom and baby girl up this morning. The little girl weighed 3.0 ounces at birth and is nursing like a little champ. She is very tiny and so cute, once we get settled I will post pics of her. Mom is doing very well and on a pain patch to help ease her pain so she is abit loopy, but doing very well thru this whole ordeal. I will post pictures of them both shortly. |

Pictures of mom and her little girl 4 Attachment(s) Okay we are home and all settled in now. Mom and baby girl are doing great. Both are warm and comfy now and I thought i'd share a few pictures with you all. We have named the little girl "Kelela" since she is a true gift from God! These first 2 pics are with mom nursing her little girl. Attachment 190927 Attachment 190928 Then after mom let her finish nursing she grabbed her close for cuddle time. Attachment 190929 Once mom was sure she was safe it was nap time for them both. Attachment 190930 Peanut is such a great mom and now that she has had her last baby, she will be a spoiled princess for the rest of her life. |
Those pictures just melt your heart. How incrediably sweet. I'm glad they are both doing well. |
omgosh Deb....I am so glad Peanut is okay tho! I bet you and Gloria were going crazy!!! YAY to princess for life!!!! If there is anything I can do please let me know!!! Please kiss her and Kelela for me :) BEAUTIFUL!!!! |
Oh wow..... this is exactly why I had Tatum spayed. I really wanted her to have puppies but after reading this site extensively, I decided to leave the breeding to the professionals. And this just goes to show that even the pros get a hard break from time to time. I'm so sorry you lost one puppy but am so glad to see mom and baby doing well. Thanks for sharing your story. If it saves just one female Yorkie's life, it will be all that much more valuable! |
I'm so sorry Glad to hear mom and pup are doing good, those pics are so cute. |

This in the main reason I have chosen to share our story so people can be better informed as what can and will happen. |
oh Deb, I am so sorry for the loss, but I am extremely happy that Peanut and baby are doing so good. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, wisdom, and overall love for this breed to so many people. There is just so much that can happen...and thank God you were prepared and were able to act quickly. you are right...anything can happen....you really have to know what you are doing!!! hugs...if you need me, call any time :D |
Bless her little heart. I am so happy this puppy survived for her to love. Sweet pictures. Ouch, look at her stitches. Are you keeping the pup? |
I'm so glad mom and baby are home now! Did you ever get some rest last night? The pictures are adorable, Peanut really loves her little baby! I hope they continue with a speedy recovery! |
Sorry to hear about the one you lost, and glad for momma that one made it.It is hard on them when they end up with no babies. Dry birth happens and you loose pups part of breeding small dogs! Heartbreaking but a reality. Those pics are cute momma looks good and the vet did a nice job on the incision. |
i love the cuddling pictures. Im so glad that they both are doing great. thanks for sharing. |
