ohhh, and i hope to get my first show hopeful out of coco's litter. i am very excited about this. i just hope all goes well.

aww i'm not a breeder but my Layla was born march 10 :) it's a great day to have pups!

ME, ME, ME!!!!!!!!! i think mine are due about the 13th. have to look to be sure. That is if she is pregnant. it was Renny's first time so he is unproven. We go next week for an ultrasound tho.

I am excited about this litter also. I might end up keeping the whole litter to show. Serioussly, I really am thinking on it. I am not going to let any of them go until they are five to six months old. I have let some nice puppies go in the past that I should have kept to show. Not going to make that mistake with this litter.

this litter is going to be scary for me b/c this is coco's first litter. i have waited so long for this moment and now it is here. both vinny and coco have such great qualities and so do their parents. lets hope for a show hopeful, if not, then i will get the experience in the show ring. i already have all the information on the handling/conformation class we will be attending. everything is set except for the baby.

i just came back from a reproductive specialist and he advised me he felt 3.
we are still eary in the pregnancy so there could be one more.
i am just so pleased there was more than one.

How wonderful to hear!!!

She is showing now, looks like she is getting milk a lil bit. And her belly is kinda pouching out :p

Its been almost 2 years since we had a litter, I think its about time!

Congratulations! I know how you feel.
My Cici is due March 1st!!! I can't wait. This should be a nice litter. I can see her tummy showing just in the last few days. I bred her to a Westminster participant and champion - so have high hopes for this litter. I tried to make it a great match and think and hope I did.

Brooke's 63rd day is February 29th, so she COULD have March babies, but I hope not...:eek:

Here are some belly photos of Cici. She is due March 1st. They are just very casual photos. She doesn't even have a bow in. But when PG it is all about comfort. :D I still have to give her a tummy cut - so she won't have hair on her tummy. I plan to do this tomorrow when I give her her bath.

will you wrap her hair before she is due or band it up?

i am trying to figure out the best way without cutting her hair

I may show her later after pups, so I do not want to cut her hair either. I will have to trim the belly. I have wraped before and just kept hair in oil and just oiling works best where the pups do not get tangled up. With the wraps the pups did get caught up between the mom's skin - and the wraps. Tying it up did the same. I was going to cut her down and not show her, but the owner of the sire said I should wait and see. She is very pretty! So will try to keep her coat. I was able to do this with Easy when she had a litter. She will be going off with the handler to finish her in a month. So it worked and her coat looks great. You just have to make sure that the oil you use is gentle and no aroma.

JadedSmilez - your girl looks like she will be having more pups than my girl. Yours is not due till March 10th and her belly looks bigger than my Cici due March 1st. That is just my luck. Right now I am thinking my Ci will only be having 2, maybe 3. Good luck!

the vet only felt 2-3 in coco so i am in the same boat as you. coco is 5.6 lbs.

i too wanted to show coco at a ukc since she will probable be dq at an akc event due to her coloring being too dark. this is why i do not want to cut her hair.

let me ask you, how bad is it to show when the belly has been shaved or does this matter?

btw.....Easy is absolutley beautiful.

Actually the belly hair grows back very fast, it did for Easy. the hair underneath is about 2-3 inches now. And besides - it won't show while showing. It is what is around her.

Thank you about Easy. Ci is a pretty girl too - but has always been a bit shy. Reason for not showing her yet. This pregnancy though is really changing her personality - she is so much more outgoing now. Here is her photo just before I took Cici to the stud's home for breeding.

He is very nice and square and compact. Loved his face. He also models for calendars - Barnes and Noble and another one. He is gorgeous! So keep fingers crossed. THAT'S CI??? What a beauty!!! I love her coat, i tend to like the darker.
Good luck to you and I will be watching around the 1st for any updates.
Lets hope you get that show girl/boy out of this litter.

Lisa, you can show her in UKC in what is know as a "working" coat. They are more concerned with the conformation of the dog than in a pretty coat. As long as your dog is fresh and clean. Also, no grooming tools are allowed at all in the ring. I saw brushes being used in Westminister last night even as the dog wass on the table in front of the judge. My reasonss for showing my girl in UKC is the same as yours but I am going to try AKC in March and just see if she gets Dq'd. Then I will know it's useless in AKC (for this dog).
