Since it is now morning, I am a little late posting this but to answer your question. i do go to bed but on the foot of it . I am a very light sleeper. Mama is in a whelping box in an x-pen right at the foot of my bed and at the slightest sound I am up and checking her. This usually goes on for about three days before her due date, then about a week after whelping so I can get up to make sure puppies are okay and mama has not laid on them or entangled them in her hair. That happened to me on the litter I have now. I had shaved mama's belly hair but she got out of the whelping box with one tangled in her bread and was carrying it around all tangled up in the x-pen. Fortunately, I found it almost immediately. Then i cut mama's beard also!!!!!! Any babies yet?

Wow that is one big belly!!

Any puppies yet? It sounds like she is getting very close.

:cup: I'm up already this morning too checking to see if there are any more yorkie puppies in the world yet? Nothing???? Abby looks sooooo ready.

bbrewser....how about your girl? No puppies there either? I'll have to go out and check the other threads for possible news on your end.

...and Dee (Sugars Mom)...was that Toby that was tangled in his mamas beard when he was born? And while I'm asking...what place in the birth line was he out of the five? Just curious.

Getting back to the OP.........Still wishing Abby a safe & easy delivery of 4 healthy puppies. I'll be back to check again:D

I was so panicked i don't remember who was tangled in the beard but she jumped out of the whelping box and was standing on her hind legss at the sidde of the x-pen with a little black baby hanging there. i also don't know where he was in the birth order. sorry. BUT, I bred kandy twice. One day then skipped a day and bred her again. her first ultrasound, 28 days from the firtst tie showed three babies but she had five so we are assumming that the other two came from the second tie. Toby is the smallest next to Ms. Thang so I am thinking they were from the second tie and since a big old baby caused the c-section, and blocked the others, Toby and Ms. Thang were probably the last two out.

Just read....any new puppies yet?? The poor thing..at the looks of her belly, was pretty sure they would have popped out by now!

Hope her whelping goes smoothly for all 4 babies!

I have also found a pup tangled in moms hair but behind her so when she got up he was attached to her back ,so now my mommas hair is cute before they whelp:( .
No updates yet hopefully that means you are busy with the new litter.

Ok guys we have puppies. Abby had 4 last night or shall I say all night. Will send photos later.

Boy 1 5.4 oz 5 am
girl 1 4.8 oz 6:33 am
boy 2 4.4 oz 7:45 am
boy 3 4.8 oz 8:45 am

This first little boy was the hardest. Abby started fairly hard labor at 1:45 and ended up pushing out 2 water sacks with the first. Abby broke the largest and the puppy then started coming along side the other sack. I had to hold the sack to the side to get the head out and then helped pull him out. Second the little girl also tried coming out with a water sack at the same time, but with feet first helped just a little, but mom got her out fine. The other two just popped out. Thank goodness, All are doing well and sleeping. I finally got the bed at 11:45 for about an hour of sleep. Then up finishing laundry and putting on soup for dinner. Life doesn't stand still for the weary. haha Thank you guys for all the support. Just knowing you where ther right along side was wonderful. Will post photos soon.:D :D Deb

Congrats!! They all sound like healthy sized babies!! Cant wait until you can get enough energy to post pictures!!
