First time being bred question A friend just called me asking me about her female. She's 2, and this is her 1st time being bred with a proven stud. She's only put the 2 together 2 times, she's flagging and letting her male mount but she said that when her male begins pentration her girl yipes (she described it sounding like as though she stepped on her foot!) and she hasn't held her down because she doesn't want to hurt her. She is asking my advice but I've never had this happen. My 1st timers have never yelped like this. Oh and after the yelp it scares her male so he gets off her, and she runs, but still runs back to him but is a little timid when he trys to remount. Anyone ever have this and what should she do? I had no suggestions for her but to hold her down? |
Happens every time with my female. She yelps and tries to run. Thus why I have to sit and hold her and continue to do so until the tie is broken. |

I have a whole set up. Brodie is real good and I calm my girls down quick and just sit with them, sometimes I lay with them until its all over. I couldn't imagine not holding them. there is just no way. She was just concerned about her female being hurt and how the male jumps right off (the noise scared him) when she yelped. |
Some first time females can flag before they are ready due to the hormone change they are not used to. Have her check the female to see if she is ready to accept the male. Peanut is a seasoned bitch and she does make an initial squeak when Bowie ties with her, some are just tighter then others. |

She may need dialating or to check for obstruction. You can lubricate a gloved pinky and gently insert it. |
breeding I agree with Tami...many first time bitches need dilating and some yelp out of fear. I have touched the back of their legs and got the same reaction as the stud...yelps! Sometimes a soft muzzle will calm a female and prevent biting the stud...and it helps if the bitch knows the owner is dominant. |
Thanks for the replies everyone!!! How do you dialate? |
All I can say is that it's her first time and it probably hurts a little. London and Gracie's first tie...you'd think someone was killing them. Now, my little Gracie is a pro ;) just kidding but she doesn't yelp anymore. |

Usually a small peice of tissue like our hymen but it could also just be a narrow spot. |
