| ![]() My female Angel just went through her second heat, and I was planning on breeding her. She is dominant and tried to be the male in the situation so I had to hold her still for my male. He is about half her size and he tried really hard several times to breed her but never had a tie. Have any of you ever had a female bred without a tie? |

| ![]() did you put a book with a towel to give him the added hiegth and traction...having someone hold and assist him is helpful too...expecially if it's his first breeding....and if she's a maiden....she should be held too as to not cause undue damage to the stud. Hey misty and it possible for a successful breeding without a tie.

| ![]() Yes, I held her and when he was on her I tried to hold him securely on to her, but her never had a tie. I had a pillow from the sofa behind her for him to stand on. |

| ![]() this occured with my two, no tie but now my female is going through a false pregnancy. so you may have to deal with a false pregnancy which is absolutly the most nerve racking thing to go through.

Q. What are the signs of false pregnancy in dogs? A. Some female dogs (bitches) fail to go out of their heat cycles correctly. This causes a condition we call 'false pregnancy.' Even though the bitch may not have mated with a male dog, her body believes it is pregnant due to some incorrect hormonal stimulations that it is receiving. False pregnancy occurs 60-80 days after the bitch was in heat, about the time a pregnant bitch would give birth. (Pregnancy in a dog lasts about 63 days.) A dog experiencing a false pregnancy may have some abdominal swelling and/or engorgement of the mammary glands which can be painful. In some cases, the bitch will actually produce milk, make a nest, and even collect socks or toys and hold them against her breasts. Bitches undergoing false heats generally do not experience serious long-term problems, since the behavior disappears when the circulating hormones return to their appropriate levels. However, some bitches may have a false pregnancy with each heat. | |

| ![]() I really do not think this is a false preg. The male bred my poodle without a tie also. She had two puppies in August. |

| ![]() Angel is getting very miserable, and I have felt puppies kicking. We go tomorrow for an xray. She is getting a little skinny feeling so I have been trying to make sure she is getting her vitamins and offering good things to eat. I hope she will do OK. I am going to cook her some chicken and rice today. I hope she makes it until Monday, but by the way she is looking right now I think it will be as early as this weekend. |
