That really is an amazing litter! I pray that they all stay healthy and strong! I would definitely keep mom on some sort of supplement. Wether it's cottage cheese, Esbilac... something along those lines. I'm not sure what you have available to you over there. |
Nine Puppies???         :) Congratulations!!! |
Holy Hannah!! What a huge litter I cannot wait to watch these babies grow..what fun!! |
Oh my goodness , that is like having 3 or 4 litters all in one!! I would be so worried!! Be sure to weigh them twice a day to make sure one did not get left out of a feeding. You have a big job a head of you getting all these kids grown up. Best of luck to you !! And Congratulations!! That is some litter !!! :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: :doghop: Thats going to be a lot of puppy poop!!!! :shocked7q |
WOW!!! 9 babies....congratulations!!! Please keep us posted and show us some pics of that many little ones. Good luck with them:D |
Wow thats impressive Congrats!!! I would surely weigh them more often to make sure they are all eating well enough. I also would start to suppliment them soon. Make sure you give mom plenty of cottage cheese, yogurt or something thats available near you to keep her from being depleted of calcium with that many babies it can happen very fast. |
omg, I have never heard of such a huge litter 9 stacking little furballs..that is great, hope they all do well..keep us all updated... I am sure they may need to be suplemented...That is sure going to keep you busy, making sure all get there turn...Must be exciting for you at the same time..Good luck!!!!keep us posted!!!! |
What A Litter.. Congratulations. What a big addition to your family. Good luck...:D |

thanks everyone for your good wishes. The pups so far are doing well, all eating and gaining weight.Trixie is great too,she is starting to eat better for me now,I started her on a calcium supplement today so that should help, tried her with the cottage cheese but she only ate a little but she ate loads of chicken and beef and has started to eat the dog nuts too,I feed her royal canin puppy.I am going to start supplementing the puppies tomorrow even though they are feeding well, just to help Trixie out. I cannot believe that no one has come across a litter this size before,There are so many of you on this site from all over the world,i cant be the only one:questione :questione |

gee those babies look to be healthy for so many in a litter,, thanks s much for sharing with us...I love puppy piles...and a large pile at that...:D :D |
Oh my goodness what a beautiful bunch of babies. I will keep your momma in my prayers, that is a lot of babies for her to raise. best of luck and keep sending pics this is the largest litter I have ever heard of. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Congradulations. I would definitely supplement mom's diet and supplement the babies. We had 5 puppies 3.5 weeks ago. The last time we had 5 puppies, mom quit at 2 weeks. This mom continues to nurse and looks much after 3.5 weeks of nursing. She gets turkey, 2 pet calcium tablets a day, and as much puppy mash as she wants. I give the puppies the same mash but made with puppy formula not water. Keep us posted. |
I've also heard of litters of 7, but never 9! You have truly been blessed! |
WOW!!! My Reggie had 7 pups twice and I thought that was a lot. Congrats and best of luck. |
ok,puppies are still doing really well, they got their tails docked today and are fine now with mom,I am going to start feeding them with puppy milk every 4 hrs as my vet said but what is the best way to do this,I have syringes and tiny bottles for puppies and kittens but they arent taking it great ,would a babies bottle work better. My vet couldnt believe it either,he has never come across a litter of 9,he thought they all looked so healthy, they all weighed between 4 and 6 ozs when born |
WOW! Nine is amazing! Congratulations to you! Molly had four and it was a lot of work to make sure the smallest got on the teats first and all were gaining weight and healthy. This has got to be a YT record of nine live births! |
awwwwww. how sweet. did you know prior to the birth that she would have so many? to be a standard size, her belly must have been hitting the floor. wowowowowow... i just cannot get over how many she had. good luck to you....ohhhhhh tell us about the delivery. your eyes must have been popping out of your head when you kept seeing puppies coming. i would have been in disbelief. i have to chuckle at my self b/c if it were me, my eyes would be popped out of my head and my mouth to the floor. |
omg 9 geez my dixie had 4 last time and this time im hoping for 4 too but i would prob faint if she popped out 9 lol.. gl and glad babbies are doing great, like e1 has said make sure mommy eats enough, and make sure puppies are eating and gaining wt ok...... keep us posted |
had no idea she was having that many, her belly was big but not huge, she was still able to run around before they were born. The day before I was in a bad car accident but thankfully I was not hurt, very lucky,3 cars involved, all write offs,I was not at fault .I got a bad shock ,my son was with me,he is 6 and I am 24 wks pregnant so just so thankful that we were all ok.I also had a bad chest infection so Trixie started having her pups at 6 the next morning and she had all 9 4 hrs later ,I was wrecked after it all but so delighted,it helped after what had happened the day before, #1---6.10 am female 5ozs #2---6.30 am "" 6ozs #3---7.30 am "" 6ozs #4---8.00 am "" 6ozs #5---8.10 am male 6ozs #6---8.50 am female 4ozs #7---9.05 am male 4ozs #8---9.15 am "" 4ozs #9---10 am female 4ozs and thats when and how it all happened, she done it all herself, the only thing I had to do was stop 2 of the cords from bleeding by tying them off with some dental floss ,I hope i have my baby as easy in March:yelrotflm :yelrotflm :yelrotflm |
wow those are some nice-sized puppies, too! do you have any pictures of her a few days before she gave birth? she must have been huge! |
Preemie bottles and nipples for the puppies. Good luck. |
holy buckets!! wow Congrats on all your babies! |
2 Attachment(s) Wowser, that is some litter of babies................so wonderful all is going well. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! |
OMG! 9???? Lucky you! I have never heard of a yorkie having 9.... CONGRATS! |
the puppies were 9 days old today but sadly one of the little girls has died, she was a good size and had been feeding and doing well like the rest of them so dont know what went wrong, the vet thinks she may have had a twisted gut or something similar that only started to cause her problems now, hopefully the rest of them will continue to do well,it would of been so nice though for all 9 to survive |
