| Progresso Yorkies? Can any of you please give me any information on the Progresso and Johnstouburn Lines. The Yorkie I had 30 years ago was from these lines. I can't find her papers, but am very curious to find out more about her "family". Any info would be great. Thank you.

| Those are such old time lines. I dont think the breeders are even alive now. If I am not mistaken, I think those two kennels are in England. Good luck in your search. |

| You might find some info in the Yorkshire Terrier by Joan Gorden. This book is also very old and is loaded with info on the older kennels and how the Yorkie got started. |

| You might also try the Book of the Yorkshire Terrier by Janet Brearly. It is a large book. Sorry if I spelled the names wrong. Its been a really long time since I have looked at these books. |

| Thanks everyone, yes those are very old lines. I will see if I can get hold of the books. Yorkierose: My Saphire would be 31 if alive. I'm sure our girls would have been closely related, as there weren't that many Yorkies around then. Neat hey? I have heard that her breeder is still alive (Di Dunstan - here in S.A.) I know she imported the parents from U.K. I am going to try to track her down. She must be in her late 80ies now.

| The only thing that comes to mind is "Ch Progress of Progresso" (but let me ask my breeder for info on Progresso and see if she's heard of Johnstouburn...she's been breeding and exhibiting yorkies for 40 years) the Johnstouburn Lines I have never heard of.

| I met Connie of Pregresso years ago in Florida. I know Windamere lines were from Progresso. Connie was a very nice person. Always willing to help and give tips. Very polite. She also had one I believe named Progresso's Playboy. Also check out The Book of the Yorkshires Terrier by Brearley. There is information in there about the Progresso line. Never heard of Johnstouburn...line. T. P.S. Don't bother paying attention to the date on the photo. It is really a photo of a photo I took of my old photos, so that I would have some way of keeping them. Last edited by topknot; 11-19-2007 at 06:10 PM. |

| There are also: CH. Fancy Pants of Progresso (1962) CH. Paper Doll of Pregresso (1962) CH. Shamrock Star of Pregresso - won two Best In Shows (1960). And of course - Eng. CH. Don Carlos of Pregresso. I remember Connie's last name as Hutchin - I believe. Mrs. Dunstan imported some of the Progresso yorkies to Africa. T. Last edited by topknot; 11-19-2007 at 06:23 PM. |

| pedigree I have heard of Johnstounburn of UK..but it is even farther back, I think???..breeder is Crookshank. She bred and finished a Yorkie called Tuffy of Johnstounburn in May 1945..I missed that show since I was not born until Oct of that year..LOL She had another called MR. Pim ..she finished several through the 50's and 60's.. Then you can find Johnstounburn (CH Mr. Pim) in some Yadnum, Buranthea, Lillyhill, Pagnell..all UK Last edited by YorkieRose; 11-19-2007 at 06:58 PM. |

| pedigree Some many be more familiar with modern day lines with Johnstounburn...these will ring more bells.. Prism of Johnstounburn was the dam of Pagnell Peter Pan, who sired Beechrise Superb, who is in Lister's Blairsville line(Royal Seal) who is in many of Sameja's Ozmilion Yorkies... I have seen CH. Blairsville Royal Seal in Millmoor pedigrees..so that has to mean there is Johnstounburn back there... My husband says, if I had appilied myself in the business world the way I have in Yorkies and pedigrees, we would be retired in the lap of luxury, but I spent it all on Yorkies..LOL |

| Thank you YorkieRose , Mardelin and Topknot I appreciate all the info. NOW I really want to find out more about my dear Saphire. My Coffee & Coco are from Ozmilion lines, so it would be neat if they were all related. I will update when I know more. Thanks again,
