Jasmine Turning One

Jasmine Noelle Rose will be one year old Christmas Eve. We brought her home when she was eight weeks old weighing 1 pound 2 ozs. Now she weighs 3 pounds 8 ozs. The time has went by so quickly it is difficult to believe that she will soon be a year old even though we have seen how much she has changed through this past year. When we first seen her we knew immediately she was going to be a part of our family. We knew her name was Jasmine, I mean it just fit, it was just who she was. She sat so quietly on my lap, so very sweet and cuddly. Little did I know, even though I had researched extensively about the yorkie breed, how much energy Jasmine would have! In just a few weeks that little ball of fur was going to give me a run for my money. She was ALL legs, even when we held her, her legs were still running! Her appetite was none stop and she was healthy as a horse. The vet gave thumbs up to from the get go. Jasmine's parents were in the five pound range, however she was not to achieve her parents poundage, so we were worried about her, jumping off the bed, grandkids holding her, stepping on her, etc. We never expected that one of us (DH or myself would be the culprit to cause her pain/injury). Well, sad to say that is exactly what took place. DH was holding her one day as he was standing and Jasmine being ALL legs "Pushed" right out of his arms. Her head hit the door and down to the floor she went. She was limp. DH heard a crack as she hit. I picked her up she was unresponsive, we begin to pray, Jasmine came out of it. I totally know that God healed her. I took her to the vet and he gave her a clean bill of health. We believe we witnessed a miracle. Jasmine loves her toys and loves to play with Prissy her big sister who is a seven year old black toy poodle and she adores being outside. She was rather difficult to house break (compared to Prissy) but accomplished this at 10 1/2 months. She is extremely smart, playes well with other dogs and our grandchildren, however she doesn't think to much of cats (thank goodness we don't have any) and she would dearly love to catch a squirrel (I pray she never does). Jasmine's coat has changed a great deal. She is getting the blue on her back now, very pretty and she has that lovely gold color elsewhere. She has turned into a real charmer, a lap princess deluxe. She has taken over the place beside me in bed and has her own blanky. I always said that I would never have a spoiled little dog, well bite my tongue, Jasmine has made a liar out of me. I just love her, of course, I think she is one of a kind like most Yorkie owners...........but isn't she.
