Pregnant Yorkie

Hello,
I have a pregnat yorkie and when I got home from work today I noticed that she has a brownish color discharge. I called the emergency vet because mine was closed and they reassured me that this could be normal. My question is this, she is only 40 days and still has about 3 weeks until she is due is this normal and has anyone else experienced this? I wll take her to the doctor first thing in the morning.

It could be normal but if I remember correctly it usually occurs just prior to birth, though it has been a few years since I bred a litter. I dont wish to worry you unduly but it can also be a sign of infection so a trip to your vet is a good idea. I had one litter that had to be delivered by emergency c-section due to a pyo-infection while pregnant. Hope everything turns out o.kay for you and your girl and all her puppies.
