yorkie - tumor in anal gland

My 9 year old yorkie, Bridgett, has been diagnosed with a tumor in her anal gland. With a previous surgery, her heart stopped beating when they put her to sleep. Our vet wants to delay the surgery to remove the tumor b/c of the risk with her.
Can anyone give me any insight on the subject of tumors in their anal sacs and their recovery? She is my heart and I just really need some positive feedback...
Thanks...
