Potty Issue

I have a 6 year old yorkie who still potties everywhere. The most recent trainer I contacted told me to put her in diapers and save myself the frustration. Help! I don't know anything about dog diapers. She weighs 8lbs and the dog diaper I bought yesterday fell right off her. Ugh!

![]() | When I first got my YorkiPoo, I didn't think I would ever get him potty trained, until I realized I was giving him too much space to roam. I really believe he was losing track of him puppy pad. So I confined him to a smaller space with puppy pad in sight, and realized he did just fine. Didn't have any more problems with it. ![]() | potty issuesI agree. I am in the process of paper training a 12 week old yorkie male. I have found that if I give him too much space he can't seem to remember where he is suppose to go. But if I keep in one room, until he has relieved himself there is no problem with him finding and using the wee wee pad. I adopted my last yorkie (who lived with me for 13yrs) when he was six months old and he was still not housebroken. I tried to make a really big deal everytime he used the wee wee pad...praising him, giving him a special treat and just some happy puppy partying in general. When he made a mistake I told him "bad" in a stern voice, but did not punish him in any other way. He was paper trained in one week. Dogs love to celebrate ![]() Hope this helps Angus' mommy, Jeanne D |
