Yorkie Dental - Chronic Problems

A Word About Doggie Dental
My oldest Yorkie, George, is 12 years old.
Due to a vicious street dog attack overseas he has only one kidney and no spleen (see blog below). This happened in June/03. Due to this, vets will not give him anesthesia. Consequently he cannot have his teeth professionally cleaned (and he does not permit scaling by hand...) His plaque build-up became frightening I spent a lot of time researching products on the web. I came up with this amazing product called "Leba 3". I really think it will save his life. Tooth decay can lead to death and Georgie's situation was chronic. The vet had to put him on antibiotics for gingivitis.
At first I ordered from a non-profit rescue society and after that I contacted the company directly - there is one in Ontario, Canada and one in the U.S. the prices range (in pet stores and vets) from $75-$100. Direct from the company in Ontario I bought 2 @$55.00 I have been using "Leba 3" for almost one year and the difference is amazing. George gets a spray every day on his tongue.
My little females have beautiful teeth so they only get two sprays a week for maintenance.
It is promoted as "the dental product for dogs and cats that cleans teeth with the ease of a spray". The product is all herbal, easy to administer and saves your pet the trauma of anesthesia and yourself the expense of periodontal cleanings." Or check it out at www.lebalab.com (I have just ordered my 2nd order directly from their Canadian branch in Ontario) Natural Plus Pet Store in North Van quoted me $100.00 for this product and I just ordered two bottle on-line for $55.00 each (cdn) and $14.00 shipping.Due to a vicious street dog attack overseas he has only one kidney and no spleen (see blog below). The customer service rep was very well informed and we discussed doggie dental for an hour. She claims that she uses the product herself and has not had to have her teeth cleaned in 10 years!
You should not brush your dogs teeth if you are using the spray.
It is readily available in the US at vets.
Check it out and look at the research - I'm sure glad I found it!!

I just had my female's teeth scaled with no anesthesia. They offer this in the US now. It is very important to keep up with their teeth, because the bacteria will get into their blood stream. Large dogs chomp on hard bones and these little finicky things are so gentile and selective.

They do that as well in Vancouver. George, unfortunately, will not allow anyone to manipulate him around the face. Also, I read yesterday, pretty sure on Yorkie Talk that some dentists are warning that hand scaling cannot get beneath the gums... You are really lucky that you have such a good Yorkie!! She looks very cute too!!

Houndstooth dentalI also have a twelve year old yorkie and I will not put my dog under. I found a women who travels all over the country cleaning dogs and cats teeth. I sat in the room with my dog (who is very nervous in certain circumstances). He did wonderful. His teeth were perfect and did not go through any negative effects at all. I am making an appointment for all 3 of my yorkies when she returns in September. Go on website houndstoothdental.com

This product was recommended by my vet, yet he did not sell it then. So he had no agenda. The research on it looks good and I keep a close watch on my little ones teeth and we have used the spray for almost one year. So far so good. To me it is the best alternative. I do not like to put my dogs "under" unless necessary and there is controversy about hand scaling so it is Leba Spray for us. It is safe for humans too.
