![]() | yes it is. You just have to dedicated to take him out a every few hours. With sasha it took a little longer cause at the breeders that hadnt started the training yet. But it just takes dedication. With sasha i have gotten her used to going out right before bed and when we first wake up. If i try to go to sleep with out taking her out oh man does she let me know. You have to look for his little hint that hes gotta go. Sashas is she will look at me like she wants me to pick her up and when i try she steps away and if i ask if she has to go potty she runs to the door and turns in a complete circle. Also, potty pads. It will take some time for him to get used to them. With sasha i would put one in front of my closet at night time and sit her on it for a minute. If he has an accident in the house when there is a potty pad down, put him on it and make him sit for a little. It took about 4 months for me to get her completely trained. But now shes having a bladder problem lol shes going to get fixed monday. If you dont get him fixed, there will probly be a more likely chance that even when he is trained it will still go accasionally. But we love them even if it means spending a saturday shampooing carpets lol Hard work and dedication. Let me know how everything goes. We will be waiting to hear from you |

![]() | Good luck!! Yorkies can be difficult to potty train, and do not adjust to change well. There are several books to read about Yorkies while you are waiting for your new arrival. My yorkie is 4 years old and still has accidents sometimes. You really have to watch them, and know them. |

![]() | CHANGE is a key word, as I found the hard way. I couldn't make up my mind of where I wanted Nini to go --permanently--when she was a tiny pup. You hear about the wee-wee pads, news paper, etc. Also, in order to keep an eye on them, it's suggested to place the pads all over the house; in the family room, kit., laundry,...Then I read that they can't tell the difference between the carpet and the pad! So, they'll never get it and the bottom line is to teach them that potty any where in the house is a no,no. The pads, supposedly, teaches them that it's okay to go in the house and any place in it is fare game. Therefore, some experts advice on not using pads or similar alternatives in the house, period. That from the get-go, you should take them outside. Well, my head would spin as I listen and tried to apply one advise after another (constant CHANGE). Poor Nini was so confused ;-(. Finally I started to stick to the outside, feeling guilty like a rotten mom should for putting her through all that for 2 or 3 months. I changed potty spots almost every 3 days to every week. With lots of patience, love and lap time (her favorite treat), she is a pro going outside now. Even in the snow, freezing rain, and scary darkness of the night, my baby goes outside. Had I made up my mind sooner, she wouldn't of had had such a confusing time and it wouldn't have taken her so long to feel proud of herself for getting it right. Before you bring your baby home, think of the how, the where and the why of where you want him/her to go potty as a permanent arrangement. Plan it out and stick to it and in little time, your baby will get it. It won't take 3 months. Even as confused as I had Nini, she got it in about 2 weeks. Now she refuses to go in the house (I told her it was okay to go in the pad inside when we had snow), to the point where she thinks the little brother we recently adopted for her as her companion, has accidents and she's totally disgusted with him :-0 She won't play with him if he smells funny. Ha! Who would've thunk it? |

![]() | It is harder to train these little guys. But very possible. They're so smart. I was just actually looking last night at some info on the computer about potty training. I haven't done this myself but I read the comments and it sounded really good. Google - Yorkie training in 7 days. His name is Trey or Ty or something. They seemed to be pretty happy with his teaching technique. So that's an option. |
