Vet Visit

I took Aiden for his second ( my first) vet visit with him. He's already 5.4 lbs and he's 2 mo. When do they stop growing/gaining. I only feed him Iams food/treats. He's doing really well. Hated the shots, of coarse. He goes back in 2 weeks for another shot. I'm curious, I never had my male Dashund neutered ,he's now 12. I have no dogs in my neighborhood,at all . We live on the country, way in the woods. I'm debating whether to neuter Aiden or not. Help
I also trimmed his ears. They're still floppy. Vets said to massage them. LOL

![]() | I've heard they stop growing between 5-6 months. I'm getting my Teddy neutered next thursday just because I'm not planning on breeding him and I don't want him marking all over the house, its mostly a clean issue. |

![]() | Definitely not...they do not stop growing by 6 months. My male came to me at 7.5 lbs. at 6 months and he is now 10+ lbs. and towers over my female. They were identical in height and weight when he arrived. My female stopped between 8 - 10 months. You can basically tell if they are going to be petite by their bone structure. My male is chunky and has a big head and large paws. My female is very petite, much moreso than the male. Size is not an issue when you consider the unconditional love and loyalty you will get from your animal. Whether a teacup or a teapot, they need the same amount of love and care. |
