chewing hair off butt and back

My 5 year old Yorkie out of the blue just started biting her her off down to the skin.I don't know what has caused this or what to do about it. Please any advise

 |  Our 8 month old did this a couple months ago and the vet told us that it was allergies. She put her on some allergy pills and gave us some special shampoo and leave in conditioner. She also had a secondary infection due to the biting and scratching. |

| | Hi! My little one began chewing on her hind legs and chewed all her hair down to the skin. She looked really weird for a while, but it seems to be growing back slowly. The vet gave her an anti-itch meds and it seemed to help. She also told me it can become a habit so if I make a loud noise or put coins in a can to shake to take the attention off herself when I catch her chewing it may break the habit. So far so good! Hope this helps. |
