5 Weeks
WOW, I've had Lexi for 5 weeks tomorrow. The time has flown by, I can hardly believe it. It's not very noticeable to me, but she's grown a little. I wish I knew what she weighed 5 weeks ago so I could compare and see how much bigger she's really got. I took her to the vet for her 2nd set of shots and her weight is now 3.1 pounds. And that was WITH her little t-shirt on. So I'm almost positive she's EXACTLY 3lbs. Besides that, for looks the only difference is her ears (well I should really say "EAR") are up now. I don't know why, but her right ear is still flopped over. I know it's not supposed to be like this, but it does look adorable with one up and one down!
She's also got very brave since she first came home. She is FEARLESS! Just last week she learned to go up and down the stairs.
She's also mastered a few commands: sit, come, up, get back, and spin. I know it's not much, so I feel a little bad about that. I need to start working on new ones.
And as far as potty training goes......well, she's still learning! I want her to know she can potty on her potty pads inside. But I've just started taking her outside so she can learn that I'd PREFER she do it there. She made 2 "good potty's" for me today : )
I wrote up a blank 24 hour time sheet on excel that has every 15 minutes of the day. I printed out one for every day of the week. This is Lexi's "Schedule". Starting tomorrow I'm going to keep track of E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G she does from eating to playing to pottying to sleeping. I have not been giving her any type of schedule, so hopefully this will help with housebreaking her. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
I love my puppy!

![]() | Reply: tape her earsOh wow... I didn't even know you could tape their ears. Hmmm... I guess that's something I'll have to think about. I think one down and one up looks pretty cute though. I'll most likely just let them do whatever they are naturally going to do, but I'll think about that. So thanks for the advice!! Oh, and I just remembered...she won't even let me put tiny litter barrettes in her hair. She takes her paws and rubs them right out, so I doubt she'd be comfortable if I were to put tape on her head. hehe. Anyways, like I said...thanks for the info : ) |
