angel eyes

Has anyone used this product. I've been using it on my 9 month old yorkie for about 2 months and it works great to dry up the weeping eyes but I've got to quit using it because of the protein content because my baby is on a low protein diet. Is there anything out there that works to help with this problem.

![]() | It does work great for some dogs but you're right. It is made from beef liver apparently. It can also falsely elevated liver enzymes which wouldn't be good in your situation. It is also sometimes not recommended because it is a low grade antibiotic and some people wouldn't want to give that all the time. Sometimes giving distilled water works but the best idea is probably just wiping them regularly. If it gets excessive and itchy, then something like Angel Eyes may need to be given. You can also wash their eyes with eye wash (sterile water, not contact solution). If you post this in the Health and Diet or Grooming section, it may get more responses. ![]() I had heard of another product that works well but can't remember the name right now. |

![]() | I use angel eyes for my Pommie because he is white and has horrible staining. But I don't use it on my Yorkies. I bought a flea comb and comb the gunk out of their eyes every evening. Don't have any build up. |

![]() | I will never use angel eyes on my Sasha!!!! We used on my sisters poodle Bubbles and during the use of it her tearducts dried out so now we have to continously clean her eyes and put artificial tears in them. Sometimes they get so bad its like their glued shut. But we do use Pro pet eye cleanse moist pads. They are sold at walmart not sure where else but they work!!!! It takes a few times but they work. You just have to becarefull not get it in the eyes. I have that folding them into triangles works best. Because it makes them smaller and you can see what your doing better. |
