On the Verge of Loosing my Furbaby

Good Morning All,
6 weeks ago I received my beautiful Furbaby Named Bryan.....He's the cutest little boy ever! 2 Days after receiving him I took him to the Vet and he is in perfect yorkie health :). But he need a little training.....he goes potty anywhere he wants...ok.. I get the wee wee pads and put them in his play pen which is were he sleeps and every morning I'm up between 6:30 and 7am to take him in the back yard to take care of #2......Then I found my self getting into arguements with my boyfriend if he makes a mistake and pee's on the kitchen floor or on our upstairs carpet which we planned on taking out to expose our hardwood floors. At first he wouldn't walk when I took him outside for walks....he'd just lay on the ground.....so we made Petsmart our daily routine...I've even enrolled him in puppy classes, but he get so excited and distracted by the other puppies that it's hard for me too teach him the lessons he's supposed to be learning. We'll he's banned from going into our basement unless I'm carrying him and my boyfriend keeps telling me that I baby him too much, but he yells at him if he makes and mistake and tells my I don't know anything about raising a pup....but he doesn't try to help!!! I find myself always arguing and defending Bryan...Well yesterday was the worst...he had taken an overnight trip to NYC and I noticed that Bryan was not eating anything yesterday at all...Well we load him in the car seat to come home and b4 we got to the highway he exploded from the back :eek:it was messy and of course that was a problem because we were in my boyfriends car...but the mess was contained to his car seat. But of course I had to clean-up Bryan and the car seat my self with no assistance from you know who:mad: Also Bryan cry like a maniac in the car I thing he has Anixety because he lets out the blood curling yelps and his tongue comes out about 5"....well needless to say he can no longer ride in my boyfriends car.....My question has anyone tried the "how to train my puppy/yorkie" at the bottom of the YT home page... I really need some help other wise I'm going to have to either give him up or move back to my apt in NYC! HELP
ps: I've blocked off large portions of the house and try to keep tim only in the kitchen in the upstairs bedroom in his play pen....I've tried this crate training thing but he just crys in there

![]() | He's just a baby. Those all seem like typical puppy problems. I crate trained mine..even though she cried. Sometimes you just gotta give sum tough love...things will get better..i promise. Just keep trying...and it sounds like you are ![]() ![]() |

![]() | You're going to have to ultimately decide if you'll be keeping the boyfriend or your puppy. Remember that a puppy is for a lifetime. There will be times when you become frustrated and a puppy will require LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE from the two of you. If you decide to give him up, let me know. I have someone who love to have him. Good luck! =) |

![]() | After reading your story, I am glad to read that you got rid of your bf. My husband and I have a yorkie baby girl that just turned 1 on 8-15-08 and she is the best thing ever. The unconditional love that she gives is the best thing ever. I will also tell you it has not been easy. We didn't know when we got her, but she came from a puppy mill and she was sick in the beginning. She is pretty much healthy now. The training has been challanging though, she has separation anxiety and that led to her peeing and pooping everytime you left her alone, even if you went into the other room. The crate training didn't work for her because she spent her first part of her life in nothing but a crate and learned to pee and poop in it. Needless to say, eveytime we put her into her crate, play pen or gated off area, yup you guessed it, she would pee and poop and worst of all she would stomp around in it and then flail from one side of the crate to the other. The vet was shocked at her behavior and had never seen anything like it. When she got spayed, she flaied around the crate so much, that she cut the pad on her paw. they tried to do the tough love thing. Obviously it didn't work out to well. Anywho, keep your chin up and Bryan will come along.. Madi is now litter box trained and she will go outside too. She is really the best furbaby. |
