Hello everyone! I just got a little yorkie puppy named Tilly and she weighs 1.6lbs, and is the recent love of my life i call her my little princess! She has been itching ever since I brought her home last Wed. I gave her an oatmeal bath and it doesnt seem to be doing anything and I haven't spotted any fleas on her. Since last night she has been having not so solid poop and even has a mucous like substance besides her poop. If anyone could connect the two or give any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

I have several yorkies and I am a groomer. The mucous might be caused by stress. I had one that did that about a week after I got her. The vet said just to make sure she ate several times a day even if it meant hand feeding her and try to keep her as stress free as possible until she was use to the change. As for the itching it also could be nerves or an allergic reaction. Is the food the same and you do use any thing like Fabreze or carpet powders? I have a few customers who have dogs who are allergic to those two things. Hope you can find the cause!!

Hi there, I think you should contact your vet. I am new to owning a Yorkie too, but I remember whilst researching about them, there was a 'red flag' sign if there was mucous in the poo. Is she eating?

You can post this in the health and diet section by clicking on 'forums" on the top left of your screen for more responses. Are you sure she doesn't have fleas? A pup with soft stool should see the vet.
