Advice please...small yorkie may be pregnant/
My smallest yorkie, Princess, may be pregnant. The vet said to have her spayed even though she is in heat. I guess she is in heat...she let Buster Brown...u know! He's a chocolate yorkie and is broader through the chest and two pounds bigger. Princess is only 3 pounds 7 ounces.
What should I do? I'm wondering about the saftey to her...should she in fact have surgery now, since I thought she had 6 months until she was in heat again...or should I have it done now? Don't have any idea. Please respond. susiemelindyrainwater@yahoo.com

 | 3 1/2 pounds is not unheard of having puppies but if you are worried about her not being big enough then by all means. Do the surgery now. Then you will not have to worry about her. |

Yorkie's aren't supposed to be as small as her, the standard weight is 5-7 #There are some poor breeders that breed these teacup size, of which there is no such thing. They just breed the littlest of a litter often known as the runt. They have too many medical problems because of their size. |
