hi! i have never had a puppy in my whole life, and im planning to get a yorkie puppy that is going to be around 10 weeks old. I've reseached a lot about them but i'm very concerned with the fact that they are so fragile and may get sick very easily and for life, and since its a puppy there needs to be extra care. The seller says the puppy has being vaccined, dewormed, fecal, and microchip. i have some questions and i would appreciate if you could help me, i really want this pet and i want it to be healthy so we can be together for a loong time.
What are the first things i need to look out for as soon as i get it?
How can i keep the puppy healthy?
How often should i go to the vet? WHat food is better when they're puppy and when to change its food to adult?
How can i make sure the pet is healthy?
I heard they get very stressed and that causes sickness, are there any vitamins they should take for that?
... well if i come up with any other questions i'll post them.
Please help me, I want to make sure this puppy is happy and healthy. Thanks.

![]() | Especially since you have never had a puppy before: Find out from the breeder what food the puppy is on, and be sure you have that before you bring your puppy home. You can gradually wein him/her to the food you want to use; Please make a vet appointment for your puppy ASAP. I have always picked up a new puppy, gone straight to my "vet appointment" with shot record and baby history in hand! Let your pet get to know your vet and visa versa-this could be a life saver. Use your Vet whenever in doubt. You will glad you did. |

![]() | First be sure that this is a good breeder and not a puppy mill, remember that there is no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie, as they may not be as healthy as a standard yorkie. Have fun |
