characteristics, temperament and appearance

I have someone asking about these 3 things. How do I answer her? How do I judge these things? Is there some site I can go to that will have many, many suggestions as to what to look for? How to phrase my answers? Please help, Sylvia


Oh, I forgot, she's also asking about head size. Why would someone ask about head size? Has anyone here heard of someone asking about head size?

As far as temperament. you can just look up puppy temperament tests and their are many ways to see if you have a shy, outgoing, dominant, ect.. puppy

What I think she is trying to address, is the different types of heads, some are larger, with courser features, some are smaller with a cutsey face.....The most important thing is the ear set on the head, you prefer a tight ear set.....the distance between the outside of the eyes should equal the distance from the eyes to the end of the muzzle....what you are looking for is a well balanced head. Another thing to look at is whether or not the dog is down faced. Look at it from the side, see if the muzzle downward slants.....

Is she looking for a show dog? Do you have an illustrated standard?

If this is the case the dog should have a look at me attitude not afraid of the devil......very outgoing,

Yes, it's called down faced...

Head carriage, layback, toplines, tail sets, rears and fronts, spring of rib, eye shapes, etc. Coat texture and color.....how the dog gaits

No, you can't get it on the AKC web site.....it's on the YTCA.org website.....
