| ![]() Bambi is 7 months old and maybe about a month and a half ago started eating her poop. I cannot believe she is doing this and yesterday was the worst I was laying on my sofa and I saw her walk by w/ somthing in her mouth. She jumped on the sofa and when I realized what it was I yelled at her and she dropped it on my sofa. I do not understand why she is doing this for the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been giving her these pills from petland called Potty Mouth and they seemed to be working 1st couple of days but she has started eating her poop again. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to stop her from doing this? I've heard that she may be smelling some nutrients in her poop or may be missing some vitamins. Any ideas aor advice will be greatly appreciated. |

| ![]() wow a year.. I've heard to put hot sauce on their poop b/c once they taste it they will not go back. But that's hard to do when I'm at work. I will give the seasoned salt a try. Thanks for your advise and good luck to you too Quote:

| ![]() I feel your pain...Hannah used to eat her poop. We didn't know that she was doing it at first we just thought she didn't poop that much and then we saw her eating it...yuck! I started watching her like a hawk and when she would poop I would pick it up quick and flush it, sometimes she would turn around and grab it before I could get to it and take off running with it to her taxi-thats where she takes everything. So I started using forbid. The package states to spinkle 1/4 of the envelope on her food so I did that, but she doesn't eat much of her food so she wasn't getting the right amount, so I started putting it in cottage cheese and after about a week of that she didn't EAT her poop anymore but she still carries it off and hides it. In her kennel that she sleeps in at night I have her bed in the back raised off the floor and I have a potty pad in front and if she poops she will cry and cry until I get up and remove the poop. And if I am gone during the day and she poops, she will bury it under her blankets in her taxi. And if I am in the other room I always know she has pooped because she will growl and bark at it and jump around lke she is going to attack it-and she finally does...lol. Maybe she just hates it and don't want it in her house, because if she poops outside she never touches it. I think that the potty pads has alot to do with the problem. Maybe potty pads are a bad idea. Since I have put up a privacy fence in the back yard I am going to try to house break her. I wish you luck. |

| ![]() Wow I have read so many threads on here and cannot believe so many of them do it. I just wanted to see if anyone had any new products that they used and actually worked. Can you tell me where I can buy Forbid? Quote:

| ![]() I ordered it on the internet but I can't remember where exactly, but my vet also sells it so maybe you could check at your vet. Good luck. My vet told me that her dog has been eating her poop for 12 years and there is nothing that they can do about it... ![]() |

| ![]() We trained Winnie to go outside. And she can hold it. Problem is, she likes the taste of her poop so much, that she'll wait until we leave and poop and have her "snack" later. And we're welcomed home by poop remnants and stinky poopy breath. We have even caught her in the act...we walked out the door, waited, walked back in, and there she was, mid poop. And she had JUST gone outside. Sometimes I think the cold has something to do with it...she was better before winter came around, sometimes I think she's just retaliating because we're leaving her. I don't know, but at least 3 times a week, she's in trouble for pooping and eating it. |

| ![]() Wow that is how I'm welcomed home from work with poop in her bed and lil pieces scattered on the wee wee pad and her wanting to lick my face. I also think that mine is doing it to spite me for leaving her while i'm at work. But when I caugght her yest w/ the poop in her mouth bringing it to the sofa I could not believe it. She was punished last night for that, it's so hard to punish her b/c she just gives me her sad eyes like she didn't do anything wrong. Quote:

| ![]() Oh I know...I always feel so bad when I have to yell at her. And she knows right away...if she sees that we found poop, she goes and hides behind the sofa or the coffee table and peers around at us. And then she puts her tail low and her ears down and just stares like "please still love me." And my heart just breaks. But then she gets angry at her daddy because daddy takes her upstairs and brushes her teeth. And she hates that. The teeth brushing is basically the best punishment that we can come up with. It's too hard to stay mad at her for long. |

| ![]() Well I'm glad it's not just my dog Duke. He's only been home for 2 weeks now, and I actually got on here today to ask that very question "why is he eating his poop !" I too have to hurry to get the poop and toss it out before he gets the chance. ! |

| ![]() ya when I come home she is so excited to see me and just turns over so i can rub her belly but once she sees that I see the poop in her bed she hides in the corner and gives me that look cuz she knows she did wrong and she goes to her other bad and punishes herself by staying there for 15 min but I defnitely brush her teeth everytime I get home b/c I know what she's been up to. It's so hard trying to understand why they are doing this. |

| ![]() I am dealing with the same problem now so I feel your pain. Flower is 7 month-old and started eating her own poop about 2 weeks ago. I ordered Forbid from Foster & Smith, www.drsfostersmith.com. I think it's working but she picked up her poop and brought it to her bed yesterday. She bit on it and sniffed but didn't eat it. I'll continue using Forbid and hopefully it will eliminate the problem completely. |
