I went out to lunch with my daughters today, (I have been divorced from their Father for over 11 yrs now) They were talking about his dog Cody. My X rescued Cody(Black Lab) about 2 yrs ago. The girls were telling me today how awful they felt for poor Cody that, when he bends down to take a drink he cries out, when he went to walk in the snow and his paw went through the snow (only have about 4 inches here) that he cries out. My youngest (23) said that when she was leaving her Father's house she bent down to pet Cody and he had a hard time lifting his head and started to whine...Cody is approx. 3 yrs old. They told me that their Father thinks he may have been hit by a car!!! 2 WEEKS AGO!!

I am SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!! This is a man (if that's what you want to call him) that supposedly LOVES animals...He feeds him CRAP....like leftover hot dogs and all sorts of junk. He does take him with him where ever he goes but SO WHAT!! That does NOT make him an animal lover!! Just ONE of the many reasons I am not with this man anymore....but, I must say.....if we were still together (EW!), I'd rather have a root canal without novacaine!! This WOULD NOT be happening!

I was so mad after our lunch but, I didn't want to say to much in front of my daughters...this is still their father..

Just had to vent girls. Thanks for listening

Im so sorry. Sounds like the dog needs to go to the vet and should of 2 weeks ago, can your girls talk him into taking him to get checked out, Poor dog must be in pain. so sad.

My poor Mom! I called to vent this to her. She still keeps in touch with my X (I know...weird...long story) She told me that my oldest daughter told her that he was bringing him to the vets today...I hope to God he does! That poor animal is in pain...I really want to call him and ask why he didn't bring him in 2 weeks ago but, he will just tell me to mind my own business..It's just that I feel so bad for the dog.

Ah... I feel so bad for Cody too.

Glad to hear he's taking him to the vet. Keep us informed about what's wrong with Cody.

grrrrrrrrrrr I had a couple of those so I know exactly what you mean!!! Poor Cody, if he doesn't really take him to the vet, is there any way you can get your daughter to take Cody to the vet and you pay for it [without your X knowing?] Poor dog, he needs to be seen by a vet! He also needs a "raised" feeding stand. Please keep us updated!
