| ![]() Turkey is even better than chicken. All poultry is much safer than regular beef because they don't use hormones on them, among other things. I buy free range beef and veal. |

| ![]() My two often eat it raw without any problems.... I wouldn't give them the skin though. It's high in fat. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() ground turkey is absolutely fine, even white meat turkey is fine. KellyV is right tho, no skin. that's what makes them sick

| ![]() The only ground turkey I'd give my girls would be ground turkey breast. The regular has the skin in it, ewww! Too much fat for them, which could cause pancreatis ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Awww, I hope that he's eating for you now. It's so danged scary when they don't eat ![]() I don't think him eating the turkey here and there will hurt him, especially if you drain it and rinse with hot water and drain again. I do this for our tacos and it's very low fat ![]() Feel better Izzy!!!!! ![]()

My vet said the same thing. It is not the same as chicken, more fat in it I am told. When I have to cook chicken and rice my vet said not to use the ground chicken, to much fat, only boiled chicken! Like anything else different vet different opinion. Carol & Buddy | |

| ![]() Well, I took him to the vet this morning and he basically told me that Izzy is playing games with me. ![]() He said as long as he is eating something, I shouldnt worry. He suggested that I put him back on his dog food. Leave it out and see what happens. Feeding the turkey and rice every now and then is still okay, just not all the time. So I guess I will see how he does today. I gave him the meat/rice mixture this morning and Im leaving his food out for the rest of the afternoon. We will see...so Im really confused now! ![]() ![]()

| ![]() When Buddy was sick I had to cook boiled chicken and rice. When he got better he would, of course not, go back to his regular food. So I just continued to add boiled chicken and carrots or green beans to his kibble. Walla! No problem. I boil chicken breasts up on the weekend, boneless of course and freeze them so I always have them. I slice two pieces up and cut in little tiny pieces and add to his kibble with a baby carrot or green beans. He licks the bowl clean 2x a day. You have to trick them into eating, they are just to smart. When one breast is gone I just take another from the freezer and put into the refrig and it defrosts before the next meal. Good luck, Carol & Buddy |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() I though turkey was bad for them. I saw a thread about this around Thanksgiving. Now some are saying it's good. So, is it good or not????? |
