![]() When pups have nasty breath it can be retained puppy teeth...food rots between the teeth and it smells bad! Check for retained teeth...the back puppy molar caps can really cause a smell...

My furkids Donating Member | ![]() Maybe it's the food you are feeding him....When I had Sadie on wellness her breath was HORRIBLE!! She still doesn't have the best smelling breath but it's gotten better...Mother Hubbard has tiny bones that are made with spearment and parsley. (Mother Hubbard is all natural food) What ever you do....DON'T GIVE HIM GREENIES!! these are VERY bad for dogs and can be dangerous..

![]() How old is the pup? Breath is generally bad during teething from 4 to 7 months, but after that look for dental problems being the cause like retained puppy teeth. I have been happy with the product called Life for Teeth which kills bacteria in the mouth which can lead to bad breath, but if there is an infected tooth or other problem that needs to be taken care of by a vet. www.tobysnaturalpets.com

![]() I was looking at his teeth, and the big teeth ( i think there are 4 two on top two on bottom) are double. It looks like the baby teeth are still there. He is 7 months old, is this normal?

![]() I won't say it's normal, but common. At 7 months he might still lose the two doubles on the top, but most likely will need the bottom double teeth pulled. If you're planning on neutering him (will help with urine marking, agression, humping, etc.) I would make an appointment now and have all of the doubles pulled at the same time so you will only have to use the anesthesia once and also you will say some money. If you're not going to neuter still have the extra teeth removed because tartar and bacteria will build up and you risk losing the permanent to decay.
